I have a friend who was given an iPod mini a few weeks back. It appears the battery is probably on its way out as he can only get to the menu screen before it shuts off. So...

I have started to use the "snapshot" feature that Mac have so I can send pics of my desktop etc to friends etc, but when I do it , it comes out in "PDF" format and not "JPEG" or a picture extension format. Command -shift-3 is the one I use, but in PDF..?

After I have moved pics from my digital camera onto my eMac, I sometimes manipulate an image in photoshop. When I e-mail that image to friends, some of them can open it and some can't.

I am about to have a friend use my mac. How do I lock certain folders so that he can't open them ? I have tried locking a folder in Get info but that does not work. Any ideas greatly appreciated.
