My brother's iPod mini suffered a short through the dock connector as the result of a faulty car kit installation. The short passed from the FireWire earth to the shield of the dock connector, taking out two pins, a couple of surface mount components and a track in the process. ...

I have stuffed up by not first checking the ports between my new Airport Base Station and my Alcatel USB SpeedTouch ADSL modem. Essentially, I have an Ethernet WAN port on the Base Station and a USB plug on the modem (and no Ethernet port).

I am using iphoto, but I found out that the program hasn't got a duplicate finder. Is there a way of fining duplicates on this program or do u use something else?

I have just bought a video recorder (yes there are some still out there) and the old age question is how do I convert all my rock/pop/ movies etc to good old DVD? Now I have looked at some things on Google but wow it is confusing.

I am putting together a DVD of a 2 hour+ musical production from a number of different versions of it I have filmed on a DV camera. Even with 200 gigs of firewire disk space, it quickly uses it up (and with that much data in one file it soon slows down the g4 iMac). So what I do

I have a sony still camera which can record MPEG video, which the finder tells me is "multiplexed MPEG-1/2" format. Is there some software around that would enable me to cut and paste these videos to make a longer segments.

I see that you can get scripts for itunes to uncapitalize but is there one of just plain folders with all your files in it? Scripts to to be for mail and itunes, any for just plain folders with all that data in it?

I have d/l some files on the past and when I go to open them something about "no checksum" Does that mean the file is corrupt?, I have to re d/l? If not, how do u get a "checksum?"

I have a PM G5 and I bought some Logitech speakers 4 it. They are a big sub woofer, 2 speakers and a centre speakers with control knobs on it. While some times it works ok, they seem to "crackle" and make pop noises

I have d/l a couple of files and "tried " to use Stuffit expander and the default. It is ver. 10. It starts ok, then an error msg pops up.
