Problem loading Lexmark printer software31 Oct 2005 08:26 GMT5
I have an G5 running OS X and i just received a Lexmark P6210. I am
trying to upload the installation software (from their Mac disk) so
that I can use the damn thing, but near the end of the installation, a
message comes up saying that 'there were errors installing this

I've tried to change dictionaries by following the instructions within
Word and it says its on English (Australian), but when spell check is
used it says English (US).  Any ideas?

I am new to apple.
I ran techtool deluxe to check my GHz Imac 20Inch.
After the program ran I try to quit and the machine locks.
I have tried ejecting the techtool disc and rebooting from the hard drive

Is it normal for OS 10.4.2 to be so slow to start ?  Mine takes 5.5
minutes with grey screen with daisy wheel, and a further 1.5 minutes
with blue screen. Even Apple Mail takes 2 mins to load.  Normal
operation is good and fast.

Just had a friend who's iBook warranty repair is taking more than 5
weeks and going at one of the Apple dealer in Sydney. After talking to
the service staff on her behalf, it would appear that there's a lot of
work for these guys and they are just flat-out.

My internal zip drive has out lived its purpose. I no longer use it and
was exploring the possibility of replacing it with an IDE DVD drive (or
perhaps an IDE hard drive) in addition to the one that's in the top
bay.

I have the option of buying an eMac with a dead monitor. Everything else is fine. My
question are:
1.    Does anyone know the cause of the monitor failures on emacs?
2.    Can they be repaired by repairers outside the Apple network of overcharging
