default application in Mail10 Sep 2005 06:58 GMT9
I'm using OS10.4.2 and Mail 2.0.3. When I double click on a Microsoft
Word attachment in Mail it opens with Appleworks after translation. Is
there a way to set Word as the default app for opening files with the
.doc suffix in Mail?
ROKR Phone only 50 songs in Oz10 Sep 2005 05:16 GMT1
It is rumoured that if the Motorola ROKR iTunes phone is ever released
in Oz, it will only allow for 50 songs ( rather than the 100 as in US )
This seems rather strange, why would it ship here with half the song
capacity?

What is the difference between a TFT and an LCD monitor?
Labelling mp3's/files download....10 Sep 2005 02:45 GMT1
Just would like to know, is there any way   MP3 files, /mpegs that get
downloaded, they can be "labelled " with OSX labels as soon as they get on
your HD?
Instead of getting a file from the net then manually labelling it, is there
Printing label onto inkjet printable DVD09 Sep 2005 00:03 GMT19
Just wondering if anyone has had experience with one aspect of this.
The program I use to print labels on to printable surface DVDs tells me
that the label should always be printed first, and then the disc
recorded. I have always done this but now have a printable DVD that has

Garageband but the other programs, iDVD iMovie etc, was there. I've
since got a G4 Tower at work and was wondering if I copyied the
Garageband app from work onto a CD and then put it in the applications

Automator problem08 Sep 2005 00:07 GMT1
I came across a small problem when I tried to use the combine pdf pages
to make a pdf document action in Automator. There is no output and using
the action open using default application ( in the finder actions)
doesn't help either.
Jetstar?07 Sep 2005 15:24 GMT2
I just upgraded to Tiger, so I'm wasting time exploring things.
Interestingly the Flight Tracker widget tells me I can catch a plane
from Brisbane (BNE) to Mackay (MKY) via Air Jamaica Express. Hmmm... is
this yet another name for DeathStar (Jetstar)?
Mac Classic II questions...07 Sep 2005 12:51 GMT4
I have acquired a nice little Mac Classic II, with keyboard and mouse.
Being clinically insane, I'd like to add this the LAN. Is this possible,
and what gizmo should I hunt down, as it's clear that adding a NIC is not
an option. What O.S is best for networking? I want it to connect ...
Dvd burner for G506 Sep 2005 04:00 GMT4
I am just wondering, I have a G5 dp1.8 and it has a super drive in it.
Now I think I have heard that a "109" is out?
The one I have in it is a 106D

dont throw your old tech away!!05 Sep 2005 23:19 GMT1
Hey all.  A plea from the low $$ end of town. Don't throw your old tech
away! now us mac users are far  better at recycling it seams than our
near sighted PC brethren, but I still stumble across many a discarded
mac in a dumpster or alley.
Garageband with Tiger03 Sep 2005 02:14 GMT2

that it comes with Garageband but i can't seem to find it anywhere. Any
help would be great. Thanks
Mail.app new message fields02 Sep 2005 23:58 GMT4
I've just started using Mail v2.0.2 that comes with Tiger. When I create
a new message the fields in the header (in order) are: To, Cc, Bcc,
Reply To, Subject and Account. Is there some way to display them in a
different order so I don't have to Tab four times to get to the subject
Broadband question02 Sep 2005 08:36 GMT11
Thought I might pick your brains on this. Up to now it has suited me to
use dialup with a dedicated Telstra line from home. I run both an iMac
and a PC laptop, just using either for different purposes by plugging
them in. The time is fast apporaching where I want to get an ADSL
