Is there any problem with running a beige G3 desktop on its side, so it
can fit in a space under a desk?
eg gravity affecting the pickup arms in the CD drive, etc?

Quicktime Pro10 Mar 2005 10:13 GMT14
I'm the new boy to Macs.
I have repeatedly tried to upgrade to Quicktime Pro.  The site asks me for
my Apple login (all OK) and my country, but then rejects my state and
postcode!!  How the hell does one upgrade?

When using the Print dialog to save documents as PDF - say for example a MS

boot. I can reset it into disk mode and mount it no problem, but when I
reset, it just stays on the Apple logo and goes no further.
With it in disk mode I've updated the firmware and done a complete

Flogging off a sick imac08 Mar 2005 02:22 GMT2
I was stupid enough 18 months ago to buy a secondhand imac700 on ebay.
It's been one nightmare after another! Anyway, I've been getting regular
crashes for the past year, and the cause has been very difficult to
pinpoint other than 99% certainty that it's something hardware. But

Mac can't read PC created CD-Rs07 Mar 2005 03:07 GMT5
Strange problem. Some CDs we've created on a PC (XP) cannot be read on a
Mac (10.2.x). Strangely it can read files in the root directory of the
CD, but not in sub-directories!
Does this sound familiar or even plausible ?
