how do the stated speeds of Mac vs Windows machines rate?
I see some windows advertised at 3.6 MHz whilst the macs are rated far
slower yet I always understood that macs were faster than windows
computers.

my monitor picture has suddenly developed the shakes every few mins. you
notice it on the sides, the picture vibrates very quickly for half a
second....
never seen anything like this before.....any ideas what's up with it?

Please find below the saga, in chronological order, I have been though
attempting to procure a Mac Mini.

here's my situation, we have 5 classes of 25 students each in our media
classes.  they use adobe photoshop and iMovie and a LOT of hard drive space
and I've been asked to look into a solution to this problem.
I'm thinking the best solution would be to get a 250gb firewire drive ...

would allow you to preserve the positions of icons on the desktop even
if you changed them all around at some stage, but then wanted to go back

I saw that the Telstra shop is selling 4GB iPod minis for $259 here in
Mackay. I'm not sure whether this is just a local thing or something
offered in all their stores.
They say save $140 but the current price from Apple is $299. Still it's

384MB RAM, G3 500Mhz, CD, near new 40g HD.  The unit occasionally doesn't
want to boot up, i believe it is to do with a faulty connection, just need
to open a close the lid a few times, otherwise in good condition - no dead
pixels. Comes with original box.  $375

One minute it's there at http://labs.google.com/googlex/, the next it's
not.
I heard a rumour it was jumped on by Apple's lawyers, but I don't buy
that, it seems to me as more Microsoft than Microsoft.

I have an eMac 1.25GHz with a superdrive and I would like to burn a DVD
from iMovie 4.0.1. Can anyone recommend media for this?
In the past I have tried copying a DVD onto Verbatim DVD+R disks using
Toast but it failed with three separate disks. I just checked the Mac

My iPod won't boot past the Apple logo, though it works 100% in Firewire
disk mode. I've tried restoring, formatting, repartitioning et al, but
nothing works. I do a disk scan and it comes up with an exclamation mark.
I finally got it to boot into diagnostic mode and did the disk ...

I just installed iDVD 05, but it does not come up with ahy of the iDVD
04 themes... do ther reside in any particular spot on the hard didk that
I can port them over to the iDVD 05...

Can someone please tell me, after Mac OS 9.2 what was the next version of
operating system released?
Can i upgrade from 9.2 to OS X v. 10.2 in one step or is there a straight OS
X that would need to be loaded first?
