Phantom Mail activity24 Sep 2004 00:42 GMT3
I thought I'd let everyone know, so you are warned.
I don't use OSX's Mail app; I prefer Thunderbird and changed to it some
months back. I left the old Mail app in it its folder and forgot all
about it.
What modem for the Mac?23 Sep 2004 18:24 GMT2
Looking into ADSL and there is a lot out there.
When you ³sign up² you can get a modem supplied or buy one of your own.
Is  it best to let the ISP supply the modem?
Are they good ones?
Connecting DVD player into Mac?23 Sep 2004 15:33 GMT1
I'm new to DVD stuff . . .
Question 1.
Is there any way one can connect a standard DVD player (e.g. Panasonic)
into a Mac (System X, Firewire, etc)?
Power supplies22 Sep 2004 13:14 GMT1
Has anyone had any experience with using the old 'flying saucer' round
supplies from the original TiBook with a new AlBook? I know that Apple don't
recommend it, but I've been unable to find comparative power supply specs.
iBook battery22 Sep 2004 11:25 GMT1
My fiancee has my current iBook, and managed to run down the battery totally
three times or so with a USB mouse plugged in - i.e. run down so much that
it lost the time and date etc.
Now it won't hold any charge at all - is this normal?  Is there some way to
Laser Toner Refills22 Sep 2004 07:10 GMT6
Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with getting their laser toner
cartridges refilled? My HP 6MP is due for another cartridge shortly and
although I thought I'd never go the refill route the prices are certainly
attractive. The company I spoke to said that they ...
Mail query21 Sep 2004 00:54 GMT2
Does anyone know how to send multiple (all different) e-mails to the one
recipient, at once, using OSx Mail client ? I can do it one at a time,
which is very time consuming.

Powerbook Questions19 Sep 2004 06:26 GMT6
Hi, I just have a few questions about the Powerbook 12" and 15" models
as I'm thinking about buying one soon.
Are there a lot of useful PC cards for the Mac, as the 12" doesn't have
a PC card slot?
Auto Cad 200218 Sep 2004 14:53 GMT2
Will a Mac be the best solution for using AutoCad 2002 on?
If so what is the best model?
Many thanks

G4 vs iMac G418 Sep 2004 14:38 GMT1
Is there a difference in performance between, say, an iMac G4 800Mhz
512MB and an ordinary G4 800Mhz 512MB?
If not, why the 2nd hand price difference?
Open Office query18 Sep 2004 03:45 GMT1
I have set up Open Office (the free replacement for MS Office). I know
it runs under X11, but now every time I start up I get terminal mode,
and cannot stop it, until I hit exit.
Any ideas as to how to turn this off very welcome.
Exporting AVI in segments17 Sep 2004 22:16 GMT12
I remember using a program that allowed me to export/save an AVI in segments
small enough to import into iMovie.
Damned if I can find it now or even remember which one it was.
Can any body help?
Locked file17 Sep 2004 14:07 GMT4
Somehow I have a file on my desk top which is locked, by a greyed ouy tick
box, when I use the 'get info'.  This means I can not unlock the file to
delete.  Any suggestions??
TIA
Server won't mount on startup on one machine17 Sep 2004 14:06 GMT1
I have a 15" iMac running 10.3.5 that won't mount a server volume that is
set as a startup item.
After dragging the server volume to the startup items list in the Accounts
pref pane and logging out and back in, I'm sometimes presented with the
Cool Aussie Mac web site17 Sep 2004 08:05 GMT3
I just found a new Aussie Mac web site which looks like it has
potential. It's run by an Apple Re-seller and would probably be good
for some "insider info" ;-)
The link is www.ozimac.com.au. Worth a look.
