Hi. I am new to this group so apologies if I am in wrong area. I am running a
G3/300 with Mac OS 10.2.8. I have entered an incorrect address for a mail
server under Accounts > Account information> outgoing Mail server and I do
not know how to delete it :-(.  Any help would be ...

Hey guys, I havent used an SSH client on a Mac in a few years. Even
then It was already installed for me and I just had to login with no
problems.  Anyways...I have a Mac OS X now and I believe on the old
8.6 there was Niftytelnet. Now, i'm use to using PuTTY on a Windows

I'm using an Apple Video Adapter to mirror my (new) 12" PowerBook to my TV.
When I close the lid on the PowerBook, I lose the image on the TV.  Can
anyone tell me how I can close the lid on my PowerBook while maintaining the
image on the TV?

I have a G5 dual 1.8 PowerMac with Superdrive and before I got it, I thought
I saw a "patch or fix" for the Superdrive to convert into dual layer mode
for burning DVD's
Does anyone know anything about this?

I have a dual 1.8 ghz G5 and also I have Norton system works v 2
The Norton's worked on my G4 Cube but I only boot up from it and use the
utilities from there as I have read it is the best way
It won't boot on my G5 so I can use it.

Whilst researching buying my eMac, I gained the impression that it
basically did not matter which Apple dealer I bought the machine from,
because at the end of the day they would all have to order the machine
(built to required specs 512/160 superdrive) from Apple Australia.

I wondering if anyone knows how to change the "default/aqua" background when
OSX  starts at the very beginning.
I read it somewhere, as the "blue (aqua) with those white streaks though it
are annoying me and I thought I will  change it.

I have installed it without any hassles and it boots and runs with no
problems. X runs but the only interface is the very basic TWM.
I'd like to run KDE, GNOME or GnuStep on it but can't find any

I have a dsl account with optusnet which works fine with my emac but i
can't get it to work with windows 2000 and virtual pc. i have followed
optusnet's instructions for setting up windows 2000 but that hasn't made
any difference. I've had no luck searching google. Anyone else ...

I've just bought a new eMac - lovely! but, I had intended passing the
perfectly workable iMac DV400 onto my daughter for study.
I used 'Target Firewire Disk' mode to copy all my files across, but
almost straight away the iMac started playing up.

questions. I can't find any software for this camera designed for Mac,

i have an eMac, and knew about the shift-Apple-3 to get a screen
capture, but was surprised to learn of shift-Apple-4. But neither of
them works when I am in DVDplayer.
I can pause a DVD and take a picture with a digital camera (as the

I have a 23" monitor and also a Cube 450MHz
When I bought it off this younger guy he had a large 23"? Apple cinema
display  it was working happily away.
Now I have one (1 year later), it doesn't seem to work on it.

You wrote a week ago on the 'reset button' ( near the battery) in a beige
G3 desktop. There's also one in a similar position on a Performa 5200
'tray'.
