Ok, i just got cable and all seems to be working fine.
i'm getting various speeds from 3 KB to over a 100KB.
are there any sites i can test my speed? or is this just normal stuff?

Yes, I had to do it, from scratch.  Somehow I missed the option to set a
non-QWERTY keyboard configuration as default (Dvorak), which I did the
first time around.  Can anyone tell me if there is a way to set that
default without having to completely redo the installation.

I have an old 7600 PPC running system 8.6 and it is now crashing on boot

Here's an odd one. I just installed a brand new Pioneer A07 into my MDD
dual 1 GHz G4. It went in the top bay, with the bottom bay having the

I have a 400mhz iMac running 9.2.2, with 256 MB of RAM.
It has a 20GB HDD, which according to "Get Info", has a capacity of 19 GB,
of which 18.5 GB has been used (mostly by my kids MP3s).
Thus there is only about 500MB free.

Scored (maybe) a $5 Powerbook 145B today.
It turns on, chimes, and from what I can tell goes to the finder ok.
Problem is, I can't see anything, as the screen seems to be... burnt?  As
in - it looks maybe like its had severe sun damage.  There is "color"
