I know this debate rages eternal... and many a times I have been the one
defending the cost of a Mac vs PC to friends/strangers...  and doubtless
the reason I am asking the question is because I have few funds and a 6
year old Mac that doesn't do what I want it to...  but...

One of my external Firewire drives will not mount any more and gives the

just loaded the update to 1.5.1 for iCal, which seems to have killed
iCal totally
now it just dies if I try and start it
delete the .plist file makes no difference

I have been trying to work out how to connect to my mac at home from work
(both running OSX) via the internet  and afp.  The issue is that the home
mac sits behind my airport extreme base station (connected to my cable
modem).  The base station  runs as a DHCP server running NAT.  ...

iMac 233 Turquoise
internal v56 modem, 2 USB ports, ethernet
Original kbd, but Kensington USB Mouse (more normal shape!)
128 meg RAM (single chip, so one free slot)

Does anyone have any idea as to when Apple will bring out a G5 iMac?
I'm looking to get a Mac around Dec/Jan, and am hoping the G5 iMacs come
out soon.
