What are the best 3d graphic/animation programs for macs30 Jul 2003 04:51 GMT2
I'm an illustrator who has worked with Photoshop and Illustrator for many
years.  Although I've dabbled with 3D in the past, I'm now looking more
seriously at employing elements of 3D graphic programs into my graphics.
What are the best 3D programs to work with for macs?
G4 Powerbook (15") and sleep30 Jul 2003 04:32 GMT5
I have just got a new G4 Powerbook (15"), 1GHz with 1GB of RAM. The price
was too good to resist!
Anyway, I'm finding that under sleep I'm losing about 1% per hour of sleep
of battery. This seems much more than I used to lose with my Wallstreet
CPU Upgrade to use "Soundtrack"?28 Jul 2003 16:29 GMT2
I was interested in purchasing Apple's "Soundtrack" - it would
complement perfectly my video production setup - but I notice that it
requires a minimum "single 500 MHz or dual 450 MHz processor". It's
strange on Apple's part to have this requirement, since this software's

I have an iMac DV 400, and am going to pick up a 12" powerbook also. I

airport card in the Powerbook.....
BUT - do I need an airport card in the iMac, or does it wire up to the
DVD-R/+R/-RW etc confusion28 Jul 2003 13:51 GMT3
I have a G4 Powerbook 15" with a superdrive and OS X.2.6.
I am confused about what recordable DVD media I can use.
There is quite a range of different prices for recordable
DVDs but I'm not sure how to tell which is compatible with the superdrive.
When is Apple going to include full Windoze compatibility?28 Jul 2003 06:18 GMT8
When is Apple going to include full Windoze compatibility?  For years now
you can read and write PC disks etc.  If Apple incorporated an Intel
processor emulator into the OS then you really could have your cake and
eat it too.
Aiport base station configuration28 Jul 2003 03:44 GMT4
Can anyone help me set-up my base station correctly? I have it working but
it's not right.
I have an ADSL ethernet modem running as a DHCP server to share my internet.
The IPs it hands out are in the range 192.168.*.*. The base station is
Anyone used EyeTV in Australia?27 Jul 2003 09:59 GMT3
Hi,
I saw the ElGato EyeTV for sale at A$390 on the Palaeographics web
site. I have heard some good things about it, but not in relation to
the Australian market. I suppose things like the program schedules
Questions for Mac Users27 Jul 2003 08:02 GMT8
I am hoping this doesn't start another holy war, as I have the habit of
doing....
1. If Mac lovers are so anti-microsoft then why do so many of them buy
virtual PC?....when I went to the apple store near me, the salesman
Exporting from OSX Mail27 Jul 2003 03:01 GMT2
I've tried for months to like Mail, but I don't. i don't like the drawer, I
don't like the overall look or feel.
So, reluctantly I'm returning to Entourage. Particularly now that I've
discovered that I can sync Entourage address book with OSX Address book.
Unbiased opinions needed26 Jul 2003 00:23 GMT69
I don't want to start a Mac vs PC war here or anything but I need to
know the good and bad points about Mac and PC (Intel etc). I have done
some searching and the general consensus is that Mac users say Macs are
better and PCs are bad and vice versa for PC users about Macs etc. ...

Good morning my esteemed, enlightened Mac users,
How are you all?  Probably as cold as I am!  Uh...I'm not really sure how
to phrase this, but I need a copy of Virtual PC for OS X, but cannot afford
to buy a new copy.  I guess I need to buy a used copy, or even cheaper, a
