Saving MT-NW threads/messages06 Jun 2008 14:57 GMT6
Is it possible to download an entire thread off MT-NW?  So often I'd
like to save a thread for reference much later so I don't want to leave
it unread.  I can forward individual posts to myself via email but what
about an entire thread?
SuperDuper! & Time Machine05 Jun 2008 18:02 GMT21
Is there any reason to prefer Time Machine over SuperDuper! and its
bootable backups?

System 6 applications for a Mac Plus?05 Jun 2008 15:05 GMT27
Anyone care to share? IIRC MacWrite Pro 1.5 was the last MacWrite to
work under System 6 in B&W - anyone got a copy? Or a version of
ClarisWorks that's compatible?
How about a system 6 typing tutor program?
Is the USB port in Airport Express a full USB hub?05 Jun 2008 14:53 GMT8
Suppose an Airport Express unit (latest version) is set up to talk to
the WiFi LAN provided by a nearby Airport base station.
Does the USB port in that Airport Express unit then provide all the
capabilities of a fully functioning USB hub for laptops who are

Where do I find details for this error that I got once yesterday, and

Lost faith in Mozy... :-(04 Jun 2008 19:07 GMT5
I love the concept of Mozy.  I have been using them for about 6 months
now, paying for the unlimited storage during the beta.  They have now
gone to 1.0, and the problems have not been fixed at all. In some ways,
they seem worse than ever.
Hey, want another reason to laugh at Microsoft?04 Jun 2008 16:33 GMT6
I'm totally pissed off with what Microsoft has done to iView Media Pro,
Now called (after purchase by MonopolySoft) Microsoft Expression Media.
Used to be a damned good tool. Now, take a look if you want, at what

MT newswatcher a no-show04 Jun 2008 14:00 GMT53
Installed MTNW just now, but it is acting totally crazy! It won't open a
useable NW window, just a bunch of tiny windows all over my screen! I've
closed it and reopened it a few times, but no joy there. Also, the icon
in the Apps folder has a null symbol. Maybe I got a bad ...
Time Machine, backupd-auto.plist and StartInterval04 Jun 2008 04:53 GMT4
I tried to change TM's StartInterval from 3600 to 10800 by ...
sudo defaults write /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.backupd-auto
StartInterval -int 10800
and it messed up the file and also changed its permissions from 644 to
Where Does Safari Put Temporary Files?03 Jun 2008 17:38 GMT14
The subject line says it.  Does anyone know where Safari puts temporary
files?  Specifically I'm interested in movie files.  One website I
frequent has videos that are only available on the site for a short
time.  Once in a while I see one that I would like to keep.  Apparently
Trying to use a Yamaha P-120 KB with a Audiotrak MidiMate USB/MIDI adaptor in Garageband03 Jun 2008 15:46 GMT20
The MIDI input shows up in apple's Audio MIDI Setup and Garageband. But
I'll be damned if I can work out how to use the KB to produce music in
Garageband. Garageband's help and several google searches have turned up
nothing useful :-(

Purchase MS Office 2004, or 2007, new?03 Jun 2008 06:02 GMT16
Anyone have any suggestions on where one might purchase a legitimate,
new, preferably still in shrink-wrap and registerable copy of MS Office
2004 or 2007 versions?   (NOT including eBay . . . )
The next Mac OS iteration.03 Jun 2008 02:49 GMT12
I have been looking to update from 10.3.9.
Tiger is selling for almost 200.00 used and 300.00 new on eBay.
Perhaps Apple should re-issue Tiger as the latest and best OS and dump
10.5.  The people seem to have spoken.
