calendar, address and expenses pda09 Jun 2008 17:24 GMT16
I'm wondering what PDA and software other people on Macs
use to synchronize their calendar, addresses, and a hand
held daily expenses application.
I currently have a Palm Tungsten E2 with ExpensePlus

Aperture performance on Mac Mini09 Jun 2008 01:20 GMT22
Can anyone comment on the performance of Aperture on the newest Mac Mini
running 10.5? Is it sufficiently fast or does it get bogged down during
operations?
Thanks.
TIme Machine behaviour08 Jun 2008 19:20 GMT9
I'm a photographer and I've been using Time Machine for some time now.
My job implies large amounts of data (in casu photos) and backup after
a shoot is absolutely necessary. No need to argue there.
I managed to set up a workflow where data is moved from disk to disk

Strange Adobe CS3 behavior ‹ please read inside08 Jun 2008 13:40 GMT6
OK yes it's wrong to pirate software. Thousands have done it, are doing
it today and will continue to do it tomorrow but I know that doesn't
excuse my naughtiness.
I have paid for earlier versions of Photoshop but I couldn't afford to
Set TextWrangler as default .txt reader07 Jun 2008 23:25 GMT22
I have repeatedly told my Mac to always open .txt documents with
TextWrangler, but it never takes as the default.
What do I need to do?
Multiple Airport Expressos on a single Airport LAN?07 Jun 2008 20:35 GMT2
Our home setup consists of a Cayman DSL modem/router Cat 5 cabled to a
single Airport Extreme base station and also Cat 5 cabled to an
Ethernetted printer.  Three laptops talk to the Internet, print, and
could potentially share files over the Airport LAN.
Favourite FTP client?07 Jun 2008 18:04 GMT61
I'm curious what others use under Leopard for FTP.
Personally I'm a long time devotee of Fetch (simple, backwards
compatible with older versions of OSX, it works, no frills, clean UI),
though I also like Cyberduck (free, feature packed for it's price,

synology ds-107+ and Mac(book) pro07 Jun 2008 15:38 GMT4
Very new to Apple, after a 25 years of MS, I counter a problem connecting to
files of my (also) new Synology ds-107+.
In the Manager program (sorry "apt", I suppose) I see that de ds-107+ can
copy a USB-stick, can handle a torrent etc.
Notetaking and Readme's, directly into PDF?07 Jun 2008 15:31 GMT1
I keep the great majority of my files and records in PDF format,
creating file copies that have been converted from other formats (.doc,
.xls, .rtf, ,nb, even .txt) by Printing to PDF where necessary.  Many of
these files are in archival folders that get updated and distributed ...
What is an "Atom" reader?07 Jun 2008 00:59 GMT22
Still looking for a good Mac newsreader. Found one at Version Tracker
with a good rating called "NetNewsWire". It says it's an "Atom"
newsreader. What does this mean? Is that a special kind that does
something different from a regular newsreader, or just a advertising
Text Juggling - TextEdit / vi / unix06 Jun 2008 18:35 GMT3
I have a file I cull from a web page.  It has kana/kanji in Japanese
that reads fine.  A few example lines:
001 1935E Tatsuzō Ishikawa for 蒼氓 Sōbō
003 1936E Oda Takeo for 城外 Jyōgai
