Back up  drive compatible with SuperDuper23 May 2008 18:37 GMT31
I've just downloaded a copy of Super Duper and now need to get a drive
that is compatible with the software.
The manual suggests that either a LaCie, Maxtor One Touch, WiebeTech of
Other World Computing will be compatible.  All with Firewire.

Replacement for Digital Editions?23 May 2008 14:40 GMT1
Over the years I've had a love/hate (mostly hate) relationship with Adobe
Digital Editions. Several days ago that relationship came to a head when
Digital Editions refused to run unless I accepted an update. After the
forced update I couldn't open any of DE's DRM'd PDFs. (These ...
Mail mirroring23 May 2008 14:35 GMT27
So I'm using POP mail with 10.4.11's Mail.  Today I thought
(brainlessly) to try out something new.  I wanted to mirror my POP Inbox
with my webmail Inbox for a backup.  Seemed like the option "Remove copy
from server after retrieving a message" would facilitate that.  So I

Hi. I am running OS 10.5.2.  Tonight, I uninstalled Google Desktop

clicking on the Google Desktop Button.  From there, the System
Preference opened up an application called Google Updater. I

nothing selected in autofil, an have cleared history with no success.
Mozy & SuperDuper!22 May 2008 07:00 GMT4
I just got around to buying Mozy and SuperDuper! Currently Mozy is in
the middle of the initial (rather long) back-up. I am wondering if I
should  wait until that is done before I try the SD! Any comments?
Intech Speedtools 2.8.1 / QuickBack22 May 2008 04:25 GMT1
Hello...
I have the latest ver. 2.8.1 of Speedtools Utilities and all apps are
running as they should - except QuickBack... Everytime I try to make a
bootable backup on an ext. FW400 or FW800 HD, QB goes into what I'd call

HP Scanjet 8250 Scanner problems21 May 2008 08:57 GMT2
Is anyone out there having success using an HP 8200 series scanner on
OSX? I can't get mine to work under either OSX Tiger 10.4.11 or
Leopard 10.5.2. Under Tiger, when I initiate a scan on the scanner,
the HP Scan Pro app starts and then immediately crashes. Under Leopard,

I see there is a developer release of Java 1.6 SE ( or whatever ) for
only 64-bit Intel Macs.  What about the rest of us? ;-)
I have a couple of applications that I'd like to use on my Mac
(Leopard, latest patches, Intel) that I'm currently having to use on
