Ominiweb and keychains are broken31 May 2008 20:50 GMT8
I just bought Omniweb but I'm an idiot. I only tried Omniweb by visiting
each site I frequent daily, once.
I should have visited twice. Then I'd have discovered Omniweb asks if I
want to save my passwords EVERY bloody time, despite me always saying
Addressbook - Where does it live30 May 2008 03:43 GMT4
I want to stash my addressbook so I can try to produce a significantly
smaller address book.  Then I'll sync my phone to that, then put the
original one back in place.
I accidentally sync'd my phone and now it has insurance agents for
Mozy is corrupting my backups29 May 2008 23:18 GMT54
I've managed to backup only a few GBs so far due to the extremely slow
upload speed I'm getting with Mozy.
However I've tried restroring a few files already backed up - a jpeg, a
PDF, and a few text clippings. The jpeg and the PDF were restored ok,
Help needed to burn ISO CD29 May 2008 23:07 GMT2
Hello all - I am really challenged when it comes to formats for CDs and
DVDs.  I pretty much understand what an ISO format is (bootable CD or
DVD), but not sure how to create one.
I have files on my Leopard system that are ISO files, and I need to put
iPhoto import file type issues29 May 2008 21:32 GMT5
Why will iPhoto only import mpg and avi files?
e.g. wmv and mpeg (!) are greyed out.
Pogue's iPhoto Missing Manal says it will import
anything quicktime will play. But that isn't the
To sleep, perchance to back-up29 May 2008 17:52 GMT7
I have both SuperDuper! and Mozy set to back up at around 0300
nightly. They haven't over the last three nights (I first set-it up four
days ago, so in real life this is nothing new) . I am running updated OS
10.4.11, SD 2.5 (v84) and Mozy for Mac 1.0.0.0 on a MBP. I have the MBP ...
Thumb drives and "system" desktop icons?29 May 2008 17:14 GMT33
Bought a 4 GB thumb drive on sale for $25 at Radio Shack (cheaper than
their 2 GB drive).
Plugging it into the USB slot on a MacBook running 10.4.11 puts a
"pocket drive" icon named "NO NAME" on the desktop as expected -- but
OK, I just got a MB Pro and ...29 May 2008 16:44 GMT5
have a few questions, probably more later.
1. I got a second battery with it, which I will need occasionally.
Should I reserve its use for when it's needed, or try to use then
equally?
MS Office 2008 Service Pack_1 install29 May 2008 16:36 GMT2
I have lately installed Office 2008 on my MacBook OS X 10.5.2 / 2 GB
RAM. Now I have been thinking about installing the service pack
available from Microsoft for free. I have downloaded it and tried
several times, but with no success. The installer starts normally, but
File recovery29 May 2008 15:48 GMT25
I accidentally deleted an InDesign file.  Is there a utility (preferably
free, of course!) that I can use to undelete that file?  I've tried
downloading all the freeware and demo versions of commercial software
that I can find, and none of them works, one way or another.  Many of ...
Deleting cross posted messages using MacSoup28 May 2008 23:56 GMT3
Can some tell me why the following kill file entry will not kill cross
posted articles posted to more than 3 newsgroups?

Thanks,
see what podcasts have new episodes without downloading them ?28 May 2008 16:41 GMT1
I am subscribed to so many podcasts that I set my ITunes to not
automatically update the podcasts, that means that when I startup
ITunes, the podcasts do not automatically download the latest podcast
episode as I may not want to hear every podcast, though I might like
Program to play .ts files in row28 May 2008 14:40 GMT9
I need a program for mac that can play .ts files in a row (not to be
confused with Video_ts folders). Does such a program exist?
Or do I have to convert it? And what format would make sense to a
transport stream with a 10 GB load pr hour...
Converting Asian word doc27 May 2008 15:44 GMT6
I wrote a document on a Chinese Windows PC, and when I open it in Word for
Mac 2004, the 12-pt text is condensed and the right margin is huge. I found a
reference online for changing "character units" but it was for a PC.
Trying to use a Yamaha keyboard with an Audiotrak MidiMate USB/MIDI adaptor in Garageband27 May 2008 14:41 GMT4
Hi, I'm trying to use a Yamaha P-120 KB with a Audiotrak MidiMate
USB/MIDI adaptor in Garageband but I cannot for the life of me figure
out how to use the KB with Garageband.
A new MIDI input is detected by Garageband when I plug in the MidiMate
