I have several mp4 files which I would like to export to ".mov" files
(QuickTime movie) (a ".mov" file seems so much smaller and QuickTime
doesn't seem to handle mp4 files properly (for example, when setting the
position earlier, QuickTime player freezes to about 1 minute or so)) ...

Is there an app that can covert a FLV file to MP3? I'm using OS X
10.4.11.

I'm picking up a MacBook this week to replace an aging Windows laptop,
and would appreciate suggestions for some of the "best" software,
commercial or open source" for functions such as:
word processing (don't need anything as heavy as MS Office)

Some events I have imported from .ics files have notes on them.   How do

In the middle January I purchased a (actually redundant) copy of Office 2004
Student / Teacher edition so that I could then qualify for the very low cost
upgrade to Office 2008 Special Media Edition which normally sells for a

I have some DRM music protected scattered about in my library.  This
was not a problem until I wanted to do a sideshow for my son.  The
Spanish music had a few DRM tracks and I was not allowed to make a DVD.
Can I tag or identify these tunes ?  I now go with Amazon for MP3's.

I got a Nano last September and now find it sometimes powers down and
just displays the apple logo dimmly.  The power bar at the top
indicates it still has 50% battery available and it was recharged last

week) Safari is "freezing" -- showing the rotating pinwheel and

With OS 10.5.2, I have a group of 20 e-mail adddresses in a group
folder in address book.
But when I try to send an e-mail to all 20 members of that group, only
twelve appear in the send to field.

For two days mail would indicate I had incoming but it would not
arrive.  So after checking about and calling my provider twice.  I was
stumped.  
 It seems someone I did not know sent me an attachment.  I don't open

I'm trying to get my M-Audio piano keyboard to work on my G5 Dual with
10.3.9.  I bought the keyboard a couple of years ago, couldn't make it
work, so set it aside.  Now I'm making another stab at seeing if I can
get this "plug-and-play" device to make a sound.

In Windows, I use Remote Desktop or pcAnywhere to control our Windows 2003
standard server.  In Leopard, is there any built-in utility or 3rd party
software to accomplish this job.

I am using iCal with Leopard and Leopard Server and I have had problems
with getting contact with the Server.
These problems have now been solved but the old  iCal account to the
Server continues to come back even though I remove it every time I
