| local mail on 10.5.2.server | 29 Mar 2008 01:25 GMT | 7 |
Our consultants claim local mail is turned on and connected to Outlook on our Windows server, but mail is not getting through. Anybody know anything about this? On a laptop, you have to tweak the postfix files and install qpopper, or some pop3 app. Do you have to do the same ...

| MacSoup and Filters | 28 Mar 2008 21:00 GMT | 10 |
Is there a way to define a killfile filter based on the number of groups something is posted to? I have joined the kill google groups movement, which has greatly reduced the amount of guff I need to wade through. The only things that still seem to be sneaking in are posts made to ...

| Adobe: Genuine TOSser | 28 Mar 2008 18:01 GMT | 3 |
Over the last few years, Adobe is the company I have grown to love to hate for their maltreatment of their customers. They have blown Micro$oft, the previous champion, out of the water with effortless ease. Now Adobe releases Photoshop Express, a 'free' web-based version of its

| upgrading from Tiger to Leopard: some applications do not work | 28 Mar 2008 16:17 GMT | 4 |
recently I have upgraded my macbook from the Tiger operating system to the Leopard one. Unfortunately from that moment, the applications iMovie and iDVD do not work and when I start, for example iMovie, I get the following

| finder and hidden dot files | 28 Mar 2008 16:13 GMT | 59 |
I've found out how to make finder default to showing hidden files but what I'd really like is the ability to toggle this ability. I'm even willing to use a finder alternative (if it's free or very inexpensive). Tiger on my notebook and Leopard on my pro if that makes any ...

| SuperDuper! and 10.5.2 | 28 Mar 2008 13:31 GMT | 17 |
I am upgrading from OS 10.4.11 to 10.5.2. I had been running SD! 2.1.4 because 2.5 was not working right for me. I tried 2.1.4 and everything worked fine except the "Copy Now" button was ignored. I tried 2.5 and had the same result. Copy Now is sort of basic to running this ...

| 10.5.2 mail.app | 28 Mar 2008 12:26 GMT | 1 |
I have spell checking turned on but it isn't doing anything. Is something required to enable this? As an aside, I went from 10.2 to 10.3 to 10.4 and don't recall ever running into as many gotchas as I have going to 10.5. Everything, as

| Publish iweb to Google apps? | 28 Mar 2008 12:24 GMT | 1 |
Can anyone tell me an easy way to publish a site created with iweb to Google apps (site). Google does not allow subdirs, so the 'publish to folder' in iweb creates multiple folders that Google gags on. Without mucking around in the

| Apple mail App and mac mal | 28 Mar 2008 08:59 GMT | 12 |
If I use Mac Mail with Entourage I can use an smtp server other than Mac's and this in turn allows me to use my own domain email address (me@my domain.com) rather than my somewhat complicated Mac Mail address. It seems however that I cannot do this with Mail App as this will only ...

| Searching for text string | 27 Mar 2008 18:41 GMT | 25 |
Folks, I'm stuck. One upon a time I had a good utility for finding a text string inside any folder. Now it's gone and I need it. The utility did not have an intuitive name its name did not give away any idea of what it did. That makes any Google or VersionTracker search

| qpopper 4.0.9 on OS X 10.5.2 | 27 Mar 2008 15:03 GMT | 5 |
I am trying to get local mail working. On 10.4 I used qpopper and it looks like I need that on 10.5 as well. I downloaded 4.0.9 to run on 10.5.2, because 4.0.5 won't work. However, I am at a loss as to what I have to do to get this to work on 10.5. It

What's been published on how to use this? Any web sites? It is a cool app but I can't begin to figure out how to make the best of it.

| Numbers won't print | 27 Mar 2008 11:52 GMT | 8 |
That's Numbers as in iWork. The printer seems to be processing for 60 seconds or so and then just stops with nothing having been printed. All other apps print fine. Any ideas? Thanks

| Printing from a virtual machine in Leopard? | 27 Mar 2008 10:50 GMT | 1 |
Long time PC user who is seriously thinking of moving to a MAC and running either Parallel or Fusion for apps available only for PC's. Asking some questions as they come up. Found out that some of my printers- including a Canon MP390 are not

| iCal bug(?) | 27 Mar 2008 10:46 GMT | 3 |
I'm not sure if this counts as a bug or not, but in iCal (OSX.5.2), when I create an event, open the event dialog box, there is one bit of strangeness I see. If I select the alarm pop-up menu, and tell it to give me alarm before the event, I find there are now 2 alarm pop-up
