| Safari doesn't cache PDF | 26 Feb 2008 20:03 GMT | 1 |
since the Schubert plugin doesn't work on Intel (without crippling Safari) I have to make do with the built-in PDF support. Which apparently doesn't even cache. Is there a hidden preference for that?

| Label blocks of colour | 26 Feb 2008 19:54 GMT | 23 |
The rounded corners to the coloured labels are really ugly for small short one line file names. I suppose this is set in stone and simple rectangles are not to be had?

| More MTNW bitching | 26 Feb 2008 13:59 GMT | 5 |
OK, this keeps happening, and i can't figure out why. I have MTNW's windows 'locked' by clicking the little icon. Often, but with no apparent rhyme or reason, the message list or, more often, the message window decides to unlock itself and migrate to some

Dear friends: Do you have any opinion on Xslimmer or any similar program? The purpose of these programs is to cut the code of the architecture you don't use (PPC on Intel machines and vice versa) on all the

| Home book library | 26 Feb 2008 12:59 GMT | 36 |
I suspect that only a small part of the problem I have can be solved by software, but I'm hoping that some "system" that I can actually do along with software will help. My home office, has three large full bookcases. I also have books piled

I recently bought an Intel iMac, running Leopard 10.5.2, to replace my iMac G4, running Tiger 10.4.11, and used Migration Assistant to transfer all my programs and files. Everything works on the new iMac except for the copy of Photoshop Elements 2.0 that came with my Epson ...

| Suggestion to replace MT-NewsWatcher? | 26 Feb 2008 04:50 GMT | 36 |
Compared to Entourage, I find MT-NewsWatcher to have many more features that I like. (I am using OS 10.5.2.) Mostly, I have run into minor quirks that I can tolerate. The one thing that is driving me crazy is that the application freezes

| MTNW and a default newsrc? | 26 Feb 2008 04:35 GMT | 14 |
I may be missing it, but I sure can't find it. Right now, to use MTNW, I have to open the saved newsrc file instead of opening the app. Opening the app starts it with a new, and empty newsrc. So, what am I missing?

| Gmail IMAP not working within Apple Mail - attempting to download thousands of messages? | 25 Feb 2008 23:30 GMT | 4 |
I followed the instructions on the Gmail site to set this up. Previously I used POP and it worked fine. Also, I have IMAP Gmail set up on my iPhone and that works just fine. It's just through Mail that it doesn't seem to work.

| Reconnecting photos in iPhoto | 25 Feb 2008 22:19 GMT | 8 |
I had an interesting situation. Double-clicking a thumbnail produced the dreaded exclamation point. I checked and discovered the image was actually still in the library but the database had lost track of it. I restored it by dragging it back into iPhoto and deleting the bad ...

Thanks all. I unplugged the Firewire cable and reinserted it and the backup disk choices magically appeared. Thanks again.
