Hi Im new to a mac and recently i downloaded 2 apps. Specifically Adium (chat program) and msn messenger. Anyways today i noticed two new files on my desktop one for each of these applications, some sort of device files. After ctrl key and mouse click on each file, a popup

Maybe this is better address in the mac apps newsgroup: So much as I like Mac, how come Leopard on a new Macbook with 1GB RAM can become extremely slow when Firefox together with Safari start to hog 200MB and 300MB respectively and the RAM seems to start to swap to

When I download .dmg files for apps, the decoded app itself goes in "Applications" at sysadmin level. But I can't find a satisfactory place for any informative leftovers that aren't automatically installed as the required support for the app:

Whenever I try to reply an RTF or HTML message that has a graphic logo in it (part of a signature), the message reply background shows as gray, and the application becomes unresponsive. I get about 5 seconds of beachball followed by very poor keyboard response.
