I miss Claris Home Page26 Dec 2007 17:18 GMT12
Easiest, simplest Web page design software I ever used for creating basic Web
pages and sites that didn't need a lot of flash (or Flash) or flair.
Anything similar to it out there these days? GoLive is waaaaaay more than I
need.

My employer provides me with a Microsoft Exchange email account.
While at work I can configure Mail.app on any Mac to work with it.  From
home, I can access the mail account only through a web browser, which
connects to my employer's Microsoft Outlook Web Accees site.

SEND button on mail 1.3.x?26 Dec 2007 07:27 GMT6
I'm trying to help a friend who has Panther, and Mail 1.3.x. While I'm
trying to figure out why she can't send mail, but can receive it, I noticed
there doesn't seem to be a SEND button on this version of Mail. I saw SEND
AGAIN, but finding SEND seems to be difficult!
G3 Powerbook: Trouble Installing Adobe Reader26 Dec 2007 05:30 GMT13
A relative has a G3 Powerbook, which for doing the relatively light duty
tasks that she needs a computer for, it is quite appropriate.
Supposedly, it is possible to get Adobe 5 reader working on this thing.  I
was able to download the reader archive from the web site, and I ...

Photoshop Elements for Mac?26 Dec 2007 04:04 GMT61
I am leaving Windoze for Mac OS Leopard and need to decide whether
to buy the Mac version of Photoshop Elements. I haven't yet
explored the photographic applications already in Mac OS X.
I pretty much only use PE to rotate, resize, and scale photos so
Net access slowed down lately26 Dec 2007 00:51 GMT7
For something like the last couple of weeks, my Internet access seems
slow on my Macs (three of them). It doesn't matter whether I use
Safari or Firefox, and checking with McAfee's Internet Speedometer --
which used to give me 2 Mbps or more -- confirms rates of 100-200
CCC Stopped with no feedback26 Dec 2007 00:00 GMT7
I have been concerned with extended delays in the new SuperDuper for
Leopard, so I decided to download and try Carbon Copy Cloner v3.0.1.  I
asked CCC to clone my Macintosh HD to my backup external Hard Drive.
The CCC started and did its thing for about 90% of the data.  It just ...
Firefox & Pop Up Windows25 Dec 2007 22:30 GMT7
Around the time I upgraded to Tiger v10.4.11 (from v10.4.10) I also
upgraded Firefox to v2.0.0.11...  I'm not sure which, if either of
these events, is the cause...
but I'm not experiencing a new Firefox weirdness:  Pop up windows (like
Internet browsing slow with safari25 Dec 2007 19:16 GMT4
I have recently moved to a new flat with installed broadband internet
with cable connection. Initially everything was fine, but after a few
days the browsing with Safari becomes extremely slow. And most of the
time the browser spends forever downloading the page. With Firefox
SDK for Mac OS X25 Dec 2007 17:23 GMT12
'm new to Mac, in fact haven't got a Mac yet.
I'd like to ask you, does the Mac comes with a development suite or I
have to use third party development tools?
This could sound like a stupid question, but I've asked even in the
Textedit dos not recognize text encoding25 Dec 2007 16:25 GMT2
I work a lot with files encoded in ISO8859-15. Textedit has an option
to automatically file charset at startup, despite I have activated
that option, Textedit still doesn't recognize encoding of these files.
Did anyone encoutered the same problem? How did you solve it?
Is MicroMat DiskStudio any good?25 Dec 2007 16:23 GMT9
Today I noticed a partition app available from MicroMat, called
DiskStudio. Of course, the manufacturer's description makes it appear to
be a wonderful tool for those of us who use disk partitions, so I'm
interested in any user experiences before trying it out for myself.
