Creating large-format PDFs on Mac OS X?20 Nov 2007 05:31 GMT7
I've run into a very annoying problem and have not found a solution.
Normally, if I have an image or artwork that can be viewed with
Preview (even AI files, I discovered to my surprise) it is extremely
easy to save them as good-quality PDF files.

open again. It happens a lot without me explicitly opening
it with the password. I thought is was special to Time
Backups using SuperDuper, CarbonCopy and FAT32 limitations19 Nov 2007 23:11 GMT8
Dear friends:
I have just bought an 250 GB external USB/Firewire drive to use it to
receive image backups of my hard drive (both Mac and the BootCamp
partitions) using SuperDuper or CarbonCopy. The drive came already
Time Machine questions19 Nov 2007 19:42 GMT6
I am happily using Time Machine, but while I wait for
David Pogue's Leopard Missing Manual, I have a few
questions.
When does it decide to back up? I notice that sometimes
Can't view QuickTime movies embedded in web pages19 Nov 2007 12:41 GMT1
I downloaded the latest version of QuickTime (7.3.0) on my Intel iMac.
I can no longer view the QuickTime movies on web pages such as the New
York Times.
I use the Safari Browser (3.0.4). I've tried using Firefox (2.0.0.9).

Does anyone know an application that would work similarly to Net Nanny
as this program itself doesn't run on Macs?
Cheers

How to set prefs for iTunes Store columns?19 Nov 2007 04:18 GMT1
When performing searches in the iTunes Store, I'd like the results to
be furnished in a manner which would include the Album Release Date.
In the default columns I now get in the application, there is a "bell"
icon, for Ringtones. I could care less about whether a song is
Where art thou widget19 Nov 2007 01:11 GMT1
After a troublesome Leopard installation which reauired an archive and

recover the data? Any help would be appreciated. BTW I'm using a G5 imac, ...
iDVD: Making corrections after burning?19 Nov 2007 00:13 GMT3
I created a DVD with slides, music, and movie clips from a camera.
When done I burned it and deleted most of the files in it. I thought I
could just import from the DVD, make corrections, and burn the
corrected version.  Oh, Oh, I can't get the stuff off the DVD.
How to prevent Firefox from saving PDFs to desktop18 Nov 2007 23:59 GMT4
Every time I view a PDF file on line with FIrefox, a copy gets saved
permanently to my desktop, which now has hundreds of unwanted docs on
it.  I haven't figured out how to turn this off.  I only want to keep
copies if I explicitly 'save', similar to the way things work when I
Parallels games18 Nov 2007 22:43 GMT2
We just upgraded Parallels on my wife's iMac.  The good news is that
more of her arcade style games run.
The bad news is that all of her full screen games are no longer full
screen, taking a tiny part of her 24" screen.   I posted this in
