Which new iMac?23 Nov 2007 19:43 GMT7
I am going to buy a new iMac soon. What do you think, would the
difference between a 2 and a 2.4GHz be noticeable? Would an ATI Radeon
HD 2600 be appreciably faster than a 2400?
My choice is fixed on 2GB SDRAM and 500GB disk for both choices.
Best PDF editor?23 Nov 2007 18:41 GMT2
What is the best downloadable software that will work with Leopard
that will enable me to take a pdf file, open it and edit it like a
Word document, like simply changing a title and saving it but keeping
the formatting, font, et-cetera. I see several products on the market.

Many repair permissions23 Nov 2007 12:04 GMT2
I have just instaled OS 10.5.1.
I used disk utility to repair permissions, and got a very long list saying
SUID or ACS: found but not expected on system/librarry/user/template.
So the repair took quite a while.

How about getting the new iLife app from the MacBook to the iMac?
[xpost] Truncated nicks in the nicklist in X-Chat Aqua on Leopard23 Nov 2007 02:40 GMT6
Apologies for the cross-post, but I'm not sure whether this has to be
considered an application bug or a system bug.
I've been using X-Chat Aqua for a long time, being a shameless IRC

I have an old PowerBook G4 (PPC) with 1 Ghz CPU speed, 512 MB of RAM,
and 60 GB of HDD. If I were to do a fresh clean install of Mac OS X
10.5/Leopard on it (still have 10.2.8 on it and seems fine, just old),
then how will it perform? Will it be slower? Or should I just wait ...
