| Terminal.app & tin newsreader | 13 Nov 2007 19:27 GMT | 1 |
Hi there ... Whenever I try using the 'tin' newsreader from Darwin, I've run into problems. It loads up and pulls up my NG list fine. It loads a NG fine. However, when I go to read a post (either via tab or enter keys), the

| Numbers | 13 Nov 2007 19:16 GMT | 8 |
I have to say that Numbers seems like a dismal failure as a spreadsheet. There are two "simple" things I'd like to do in Numbers: 1) divide a spreadsheet into scrollable panes and

| Odd MS Word Behavior - Leopard? | 13 Nov 2007 16:24 GMT | 12 |
I have Word X (no, not even Word 2004) on my MacBookPro upgraded a couple of weeks ago to Leopard. I'm holding out till mid-Jan. 2008 to get the new Office version because I distribute a lot of docs to elderly PC users. Although I have quirks in Word already (for one the default

| TextEdit argh | 13 Nov 2007 11:54 GMT | 11 |
Why is it that whenever I open a saved TextEdit document, the window does not hug the top left corner under the Apple logo? The window opens too low and too far to the right and I always have to move it back up to see the whole document. It's almost as if the application thinks ...

| Firefox-Leopard Woes | 13 Nov 2007 05:55 GMT | 8 |
When I first installed Leopard, Firefox (2.0.0.9) seemed to tun just fine on my 867 MHz Quicksilver. But as time has elapsed, it seems to increasingly misbehave. Spinning beach ball, time lags between instructions, lack of response, font sizing problems, and today it has

| Numbers.app autofill | 12 Nov 2007 16:46 GMT | 1 |
Okay, I need to autofill some cells --- a sufficiently large quantity sufficiently many times that the drag-the-bottom-right-corner-and- release would be tedious --- checking the Help file for ``fill cells'' provides the text:

Although Leopard is now "out" on both sides of the pond, is it possible (in the UK, if that makes a difference) to continue buying Macs with Tiger (for non-early adopters).

| Boot drive disappeared | 12 Nov 2007 10:53 GMT | 5 |
The boot drive (Seagate 120Gb) on my G4 PowerMac (10.4.10) suddenly disappeared. I was playing some game and the spinning ball came on and I couldn't get rid of it - so I stopped the machine and re-booted. I got the ? in the middle of the screen and nothing else. So I re-booted ...

| The AAC bug in iTunes | 12 Nov 2007 02:07 GMT | 3 |
I'm still not entirely sure *exactly* what this bug is. Apparently it at least involves ripped AAC tracks being displayed (when doing a Get Info on them within iTunes) at the incorrect bitrates, even when VBR encoding is unchecked.
