Best application to read AVI files and convert to Mac friendly formats06 Oct 2007 21:33 GMT12
I'm mulling over the idea of getting a digital camera with a flash
drive.
It saves video movies in AVI format.
Might someone recommend an application for converting those AVI files
iPhoto Slideshows06 Oct 2007 17:02 GMT5
I have a couple of slideshows that friends and relatives would like to
view on big-screen TVs.
My TV is an HD 40-inch Sony with Direct TV.
I can connect cables from my Nikon D70 to the receiver but the quality
Leopard06 Oct 2007 09:12 GMT10
Being a Mac switcher about 6 months ago (and glad I did). I've had
several updates - all installed no problem.
I know from windoze that all OS changes were done by physical media.
Don't suppose a new OS from Apple has ever/could be done via download?
Iphoto problem06 Oct 2007 07:20 GMT4
I have a quick Iphoto question.
I keep burning photos to a disc from Iphoto, but then when I go to a
photo development place to download them all the pictures have been
copied onto the disk 3 or 4 times.
Should I wait for Leopard?05 Oct 2007 10:26 GMT35
I've been researching a purchase of a Macintosh for a short while.
I've narrowed down my choices to one of the 2.4GHz iMac models. I was
considering a MacBook Pro originally but I can't imagine that I would
enjoy using Photoshop and Dreamweaver on a Macintosh laptop any more
I know you are all against me.04 Oct 2007 23:56 GMT24
I know you are all against me. Quite apart from the cruel and
cutting things you say. Big evidence is that you all keep
discussing things I am not that interested in.
Scanning "save as" question04 Oct 2007 23:25 GMT3
Imac, OSX
In scanning a document for email distribution as a jpeg, I'm using a
Canon scanner with Photo Studio software which does the job quite well.
My question is this;
swf flash files to mpeg or other?04 Oct 2007 21:38 GMT14
I have swf flash files I want to upload to YouTube and YT won't accept
them.
Any idea on how to convert to mp4 or mov or avi?
Visual Hub doesn't work, ditto Quicktime Pro
Looking for a particular utility please. Can someone point me?04 Oct 2007 17:45 GMT3
Group, can someone please tell me where I might find a one-trick pony?
I need a utility which will accept an input of many images (JPG, PSD or
NEF for example) and, on command, bring all of them to a uniform gamma,
brightness, and/or color balance.
Eliminating Buzz From Itunes Recorded CDs?04 Oct 2007 16:32 GMT4
When I use Itunes to burn a CD of itunes (m4p and m4a) files on my
DELL 4400 using a NEC CD-RW drive I hear an very brief (2 seconds) and
sporadic buzzing sound on the burned CD.  I've been trying all sorts
of fixes such as chaning the burn speed and upgrading the firmware for
Can an iPod touch send and receive email via a dot.mac account?04 Oct 2007 15:46 GMT18
The title pretty much says it. I purchased an iPod touch after I was assured
at the Apple store that I could use it to send and receive email with my
dot.mac account using Safari. I can receive email, but what is happening when
I attempt to send Safari crashes when I try to add a ...
Lotus Notes - New Mail sound?04 Oct 2007 01:38 GMT2
Does anyone know how to turn off or change the new mail sound in Lotus
Notes for Mac (v7.0.2)?  It is terribly annoying and I would love to
get rid of it if I can.
Thanks,
Anyway to specify file size in Retrospect04 Oct 2007 00:20 GMT3
Does anyone know if it is possible to limit the file size of a backup
segment in Retrospect?
eg. backing up 50GB to external hard drive, but want it to be in 4GB
segments.
Which wacom tablet for an amateur photographer?03 Oct 2007 13:07 GMT7
I am not really an artist. Without a ruler, I can't come close to a
straight line, and my portraits are stick figures.  I know my way around
Photoshop reasonably well in a purely technical way. That is, I have
used it to create and edit user interface elements, and can modify
Possible to use a size 7 type/point in Photoshop/Elements?03 Oct 2007 03:17 GMT8
I'm on a Mac G4 running 10.4.10. I have Photoshop 7 as well as
Elements 3. Although I suspect that the font sizes shown as available
in the point or sizes menu when using the text tool would be those
available on the Mac itself, when I saw the greyed-out "Other" option,
