Anyone know how to get at the screen resolutions from the Terminal? I should know this, but I don't, and Google didn't help much. Sometimes my big CRT won't kick in when the G4 wakes up, I just need to reset the resolution to something the old video card and the monitor

I am in the process of going back from Windows to the Mac after many years, and I will bring lots of data with me. :) This means I need a good backup concept from the start. I also am interested in a quick recovery solution in case of harddisk failure.

OK, I've just upgraded to iLife '08 and it has converted my existing iPhoto archive from individual pictures into some sort of lump file in which pictures can't be accessed individually. I know copies can be made dragging thumbnails to the desktop so I wouldn't care so much

I remember my very fist computer. I was twelve years old. The computer was a Wang 386 PC. I was amazed at the fact that you could put a cd in it and view pictures and information. Back then you put the CD-ROMs in a square holder, and inserted that into the computer.
