National Geographic TOPO!23 Sep 2007 15:43 GMT3
Any users of National Geographic's TOPO! on the Mac lurking out there?
I use it occasionally for marking and annotating backcountry ski trails
and GPS waypoints on maps (I'm not attempting to connect it directly to
any live GPS receiver); and while I like some of its features, I ...

Packages and Receipts23 Sep 2007 08:03 GMT3
I have been collecting all the packages and receipts thru
Panther and Tigar. Any reason why one wouldn't burn them to
a DVD and delete them? They are running into multigigs of
hard disk space.
Still can't alphabetize bookmarks in Safari 3?22 Sep 2007 23:17 GMT3
Is there a way to alphabetize bookmarks within folders, and folders
within collections, in Safari 3 beta?
If so, haven't found it, and miss that feature from Netscape.
Hogwasher thread window Grab22 Sep 2007 21:17 GMT2
In mail, Blinky has expressed interest in the kinds of thread graphs that
Hogwasher and MacSOUP provide.
I'm having trouble using Grab to get a picture of the Hogwasher thread
window.  That Hogwasher window (and only that window) disappears when I
Audacity?22 Sep 2007 18:22 GMT4
I know I've seen it mentioned, so I thought perhaps someone here could
solve a puzzle for me.  I've been rather obsessively converting old
cassettes(some of which are already dying) and LPs to .mp3 with
Audiophile and Audacity.  Periodically Audacity freezes on me--usually
OpenType and wordprocessors22 Sep 2007 17:34 GMT7
Are there any wordprocessors (not DTP programs as InDesign, Quark etc) that
utilise the special features of OpenType type faces, such as small caps and
lower case numerals etc? If one choose "small caps" in Word (older versions at
least) the app. *creates* small caps, it does not ...
Mail Problem22 Sep 2007 16:13 GMT4
A year ago I switched ISPs and when deleting the old
server from Mac Mail, it took the liberty of deleting all
of my old saved email that I very much wanted to keep.
So, now I am looking at another ISP switch and don't want
Apple mouse with scroll22 Sep 2007 13:41 GMT42
Anyone had experience with the Mighty Mouse? I was considering
getting one (with cord, so no probs about wireless or battery
will affect) but reading some comments, people are complaining
about scroll button being impossible to clean when clogged. Is
Safari and Swizzling21 Sep 2007 23:47 GMT10
When I run Safari I note in the handy-dandy access I have in the
console via Path Finder this inscrutable error:

Transferring iLife '08 (pre-installed on Tiger) to Leopard21 Sep 2007 22:54 GMT4
My MBPro is only two weeks old and has iLife '08 preinstalled.
When Leopard is released I want to make a clean install but save the iLife
applications that came pre-installed and transfer them to Leopard (so I don't
have to purchase iLife ´08 separately)
Pixel Aspect Ratio /Problems with fonts in PS21 Sep 2007 02:45 GMT9
Hey People
Thanks for helping this recent apple convert out with your patience and wisdom.
It turns out that I just had to set my Pixel Aspect Ratio to square,
don’t ask me why, it just made it work. If anyone cares to comment on
What You Need to Know about iPod Movies20 Sep 2007 23:24 GMT1
The process is simple: start by downloading the QuickTime 7 Pro from
the Apple website. If you have a Mac computer, simply upload your
movie to your computer and click on the title of the movie in the drop
down box found on the QuickTime program menu.
iWork'08 - Pages 3 - how to switch word processing to page layout mode?20 Sep 2007 16:37 GMT3
I have grasped the two modes in Pages 2 (word processing and page
layout), as they had been layered on top of another.
Now with Pages 3 I have difficulty - how do I switch a document from one
mode to the other? I like to have the modes separate instead of layered,
