When I attempt to scan a document into Readiris,  Canon Scan Gear opens
and freezes.

I have some large audiobook files in .mp3 format. I usually listen to
audiobooks on a 1st generation iPod Shuffle. There is so little control
that a large book file is very inconvenient. Scrolling through an 8-hour
track (!!) is really impossible.

I am not a Mac User. My son recently got a hand me down Mac power book
G4. It already had Office installed under the original username. My
son deleted that account and created a new account. Now when we look
under application we cannot find the previously installed office

Windows has had a "trash cache" written into the OS for years so that
you have the choice to hold deleted files in case you make a mistake.  
OS X forces you to buy another program, although inexpensive ones are
available, so that you don't accidentally lose important files.

I just went to rip some cds for the first time in a couple of iTunes
updates and I notice that iTunes-Lame no longer shows up in iTunes.  In
fact the whole applescript pull-down has disappeared from iTunes.

Guess that says it. Sometimes things download and sometimes they
don't, sometimes I press "get" and it doesn't do anything, I just
