Very slow emptying of Trash on external drive?07 Aug 2007 02:56 GMT5
I had done a bootable SilverKeeper backup (at least it was supposedly
bootable; never tested it), about 40 GB and 125,000 files in size, from
the internal HD of an Intel Tiger MacBook to an external 120 GB FireWire
HD, which also contained 20 or 30 GB of earlier stuff put there ...

Console Secrets - Swizzling / Can't Interpret06 Aug 2007 21:32 GMT6
I recently got a great deal on Path Finder so I bought it though I'm
not sure I have so much use for it.  It has easy access to the console,
so I've been idling following it's complaints for the last week. There
are *many*.
Moving  song out of PODCASTS06 Aug 2007 18:32 GMT2
Using the latest iTunes 7.3.2, I converted a song-of-the-day 'podcast'
to AAC.
In iTunes 6 it ised to put the converted song in the music library, but
in this 7.3.2 it remains in the podcast folder.
Finding the Cursor06 Aug 2007 14:00 GMT7
Is there an app that helps 'find' the cursor?
I often loose track of the cursor and would like a way of either high
lighting it or bringing it to some standard place on the screen.

Brand new Ipod Nano is malfunctioning right out of the box06 Aug 2007 13:05 GMT9
I just bought my first Ipod – an two-gigabyte Nano.
As soon as I plugged it into my USB 2 hub, Itunes and the Imac froze and
I couldn't even restart because the color wheel kept spinning on my
screen and I couldn't even get to the Finder to quit any programs, so I
iChat question06 Aug 2007 08:34 GMT1
How come this works like a broeeze at work on a wireless connection.
But not at home on either a wireless or direct cable connection? (In
Australia, if that matters.) It disconnects me and says host
unavailable within a second or two of logging in.
Can't find an application!06 Aug 2007 04:17 GMT7
Got a question please.
I have an application starting on boot and installing an icon on the
dock that doesn't seem to be showing up anywhere in the applications
folder or in spotlight.
Multiple Destination File Transfer06 Aug 2007 03:21 GMT13
I've been searching for software that has the capability of letting me
specify a source (files to copy) and TWO destinations (to copy the
files to).
Basically what I'm trying to accomplish is having a backup of files

Safari and Camino browsers05 Aug 2007 23:55 GMT8
Does anybody know why it is that the above browsers will not work with
the (new) BT Yahoo Mail? Or perhaps I should say, why does BT Yahoo mail
not work with those browsers when it works with Firefox?
Many thanks
photo printing cuts off edges05 Aug 2007 19:27 GMT4
When I print a 4x6 photo, I first crop it in iPhoto to 4x6 (saving it
as a duplicate of course), then open it in Preview to print on an
Epson R800 printer, using the sheet fed borderless option. While the
photos come out borderless, they cut off just a small amount of each
DVD Player quits05 Aug 2007 19:23 GMT7
I'm using a 26" LCD monitor (Gateway GTW-L26M103) connected to my PowerBook.
The default ("native") resolution is 1280x720.
When the display is set to this resolution, DVD player won't run. I click on
the icon, and after a few seconds I get the "The application DVD Player has

Burning podcasts04 Aug 2007 16:44 GMT2
It seems to be impossible since some time to burn podcasts in iTunes as
mp3. Burning as audio is possible.
How can I burn my podcasts on a cd?
Thanks.
