If I import pictures direct from Nikon it creates the DSC_XXXX.JPG and DSC_XXXX.NEF files and displays these names in the browse window quite happily, however if I copy the pics to a folder on my Macbook to say geomap them prior to loading then when I import them the file ...

I use .mails smtp service along-side Google (POP) using mac mail as my client. I have experienced of late slow response times from the smtp sever when sending and receiving mail. There is a noticeable improvement if I am using Google.

It appears that to send a Mail reply, I must either press Shift-Apple-D or use my mouse to do a drop-down after I'm done writing the message. Is there a way to configure it for something quicker?

I assume there is no way of altering the width of the actual tabs in Safari? The tabs give useful info of pic sizes but one of the dimensions is invariably cut off when more than one tab is open. When there is just one tab, the info, e.g. "160 x 110", displays

I want to install Parallels and a one time install of Windows, but I haven't yet because I want to upgrade my OS in October. Do you know an OS upgrade will keep files and such intact or will it be a start from scratch after install? Thanks in advance.

I just bought the mp3 download version of a language program with about 60 files. In order to locate them easily on my iMac or iPod, I have to give them an artist or album name. Anyway, I have to enter the name in one at a time in iTunes, and it is very time consuming and tedious.

In my Dock, my Mail icon frequently bounces, and periodically a window appears, with a request to provide my email passcode to go with the corresponding user name, and new incoming email from that account is inaccessible until I type my passcode into the field in that window.
