Safari download file speeds19 Jul 2007 16:10 GMT1
Is the speed in the download window in parentheses, the average speed
over the download period or an essentially instant speed over a recent
short interval?
TIA
iPhoto question19 Jul 2007 14:43 GMT1
If I import pictures direct from Nikon it creates the DSC_XXXX.JPG and
DSC_XXXX.NEF files and displays these names in the browse window quite
happily, however if I copy the pics to a folder on my Macbook to say
geomap them prior to loading then when I import them the file ...

Sending a Mail Reply19 Jul 2007 00:01 GMT12
It appears that to send a Mail reply, I must either press
Shift-Apple-D or use my mouse to do a drop-down after I'm done writing
the message.
Is there a way to configure it for something quicker?

QuickTime update broken?18 Jul 2007 20:04 GMT1
Hi folks--
I downloaded the current QuickTime update via Software Update yesterday, and
now it doesn¹t work, at least when QuickTime videos are embedded into web
pages.  I¹ve checked the preferences, and configured everything properly, so
Safari tab size18 Jul 2007 09:09 GMT2
I assume there is no way of altering the width of the actual tabs
in Safari? The tabs give useful info of pic sizes but one of the
dimensions is invariably cut off when more than one tab is open.
When there is just one tab, the info, e.g. "160 x 110", displays
OS Upgrade and Parallels18 Jul 2007 05:40 GMT12
I want to install Parallels and a one time install of Windows, but I
haven't yet because I want to upgrade my OS in October. Do you know an
OS upgrade will keep files and such intact or will it be a start from
scratch after install? Thanks in advance.
Newsreader with GPG Support?18 Jul 2007 03:54 GMT4
Does anyone know of an OS X newsreader that supports GPG encryption and
signatures?
Right now I'm using MT-NewsWatcher, and it's great, but the only way to
do signing in it involves copying and pasting from GPGDropThing via the

iPhoto 6.0.6 glitch or PEBKAC?17 Jul 2007 21:36 GMT21
I'm confident I know what the problem is, but I promised the client I
would look into it, so here goes.
The client has over 25,000 photos in iPhoto 6.0.6 and makes extensive
use of nested folders.  Several weeks ago she told me one of her
Group pasting info into iTunes?17 Jul 2007 16:56 GMT3
I just bought the mp3 download version of a language program with about
60 files.  In order to locate them easily on my iMac or iPod, I have to
give them an artist or album name.  Anyway, I have to enter the name in
one at a time in iTunes, and it is very time consuming and tedious.
Mail keeps asking for my passcodes17 Jul 2007 16:32 GMT7
In my Dock, my Mail icon frequently bounces, and periodically a window
appears, with a request to provide my email passcode to go with the
corresponding user name, and new incoming email from that account is
inaccessible until I type my passcode into the field in that window.
