iTunes problem with video07 Jul 2007 17:30 GMT12
I just got a 60 Gb 5th gen ipod yesterday.
When I try to transfer an .mpeg video to ipod, this generic message
comes up saying "this video cannot be played on this ipod because this
ipod doesn't support this video format."
Best, Easiest App for RSS/XML/Podcasts?07 Jul 2007 16:23 GMT1
Best, Easiest App for RSS/XML/Podcasts?
I am making a bunch of small iMovies that I want to turn into
Podcasts/RSS feeds.
I currently have GoLive 6.01. I know it well, except for XML.
iSync and ATT (non-iPhone) models07 Jul 2007 15:07 GMT3
Not sure if iSync is system or app re posting.
I have a contract with ATT which doesn't expire until Nov but I am
eligible for an upgrade this month.  My current, absolute bottom feeder
Nokia is weirding out and works about 10 percent of the time.  The rest

I know that Stuffit Expander is fine for decompressing files, but a
about a year ago I was told of another way that didn't involve third
party software, and that relied on a Mac app (through Get Info).
At the time I used that method and it worked perfectly.
Key Caps is missing07 Jul 2007 00:44 GMT11
How can I type special characters, like a check mark?
The Mac Help Viewer says to use Utilities > Key Caps, but that program
isn't in my Utilities folder, or anywhere else on my computer.
I'm using OS 10.4.9 on a 2006 Imac.
iTunes problem after update07 Jul 2007 00:18 GMT4
As per the norm after Apple's latest updates, I have a problem.
I launch iTunes.  It opens my library then I get a window saying "Updating
iTunes Library".  This finishes and then I get a window saying "The iTunes
Library file cannot be saved.  An unknown error occurred (-50)."
mac minis - smaller but are they cheaper?07 Jul 2007 00:13 GMT22
I noticed that mac minis are quite cheap, but then again you are only
paying for the hard drive.
Since you would have to buy a screen/keyboard on top, would it be fair
to assume that if you bought a mac mini, you'd be paying just as much
How do I enter the date?06 Jul 2007 22:22 GMT28
What's the quickest way to insert the current date into some text? I like to
name some of my files with the date included in the name. Can the system do
this, or do I need a macro programme? Is one generally considered the best?

Help - need calendar app.!!06 Jul 2007 18:08 GMT6
OK, first, a bit of background - I've been running a really good
calendar application on various Macs since, uh, 1992, I think. David
Oster's 'Cal'... it allows notes to be kept for every day, which it
saves in text file format, in directories labeled for the dates. It's

PDF for Lulu06 Jul 2007 03:53 GMT16
A relative writes books of interest to certain scholars.  Lulu.com works
for her because it would be foolish to print up 10,000 copies at once.
She had a PC.
Her sister has a Mac and is trying to set up the cover for her latest
Writing an HFS CD on Windows06 Jul 2007 02:50 GMT5
I have a bunch of files I downloaded onto a Windows computer.
I want to use them on an old Mac (system 7) with a CD drive.
I would like to burn them to an HFS CD. All I could find was
a reference to a program which is now gone, called HFV explorer

Reading Slate recently I keep encountering a dialog box that tells me
repeatedly that the "BrightCove player" won't work with my browser.
Anyone have any idea what this is all about?
