Since the last system update, Firefox silently fails to launch. It fails
when launched from from the dock and when double-clicked in the
applications folder.
Any suggestions? TIA.
Copy of iAddressX07 May 2007 00:30 GMT10
Might one of you have a backed up copy of Mibasoft's iAddressX version
3.5.1? It lists all your contacts for easy access in the menubar.
The author (according to a post on Versiontracker) got a job with Apple
and dropped development/support of this great little prefpane. How dare
iTunes - Advanced Searching06 May 2007 21:25 GMT4
I'm periodically stumped by simple filtering in my iTunes library.
I know the following can easily done in smart-folder processing, but I

Mac Mail06 May 2007 12:13 GMT4
I have been using a Mac for five years and didn't know this so it may be
useful to others.  You can set Mail to keep items in the same subject
string together.  Go to View and set "Organize By Thread."  If you are
on a few mailing lists, as I am, you will love this.
iSight Power06 May 2007 05:39 GMT8
I turn my iSight camera off and log off the software. Even though the
green light is not ON on the camera, it feels warm to the touch. Doesn't
the thing power down? Do I have to pull the USB plug every time I am not
using it?
word processor as good as WriteNow for Intel Macs?05 May 2007 23:00 GMT18
Based upon my expectation of being able to use legacy apps via
Classic under X, I recently bought a new Macbook only to find that it
doesn't do Classic.  Had I known, I would have bought a used Pismo and
had good ol' 9.x instead.  What is a word processor that will

HOW TO MAKE MONEY OVERFLOWING YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT

What about all of the data the OS stores about us?05 May 2007 14:24 GMT31
Will someone please address the issue of all of the data caching that
goes on in the OS (OSX.3.9, in my case).  I would like to replace the
files that do this with locked files or maybe with jpegs that can't be
written to, or just eliminate them altogether.  Is it possible to do
How to Look up CD ID3 Tags for Music NOT Imported Through iTunes05 May 2007 00:50 GMT4
Anyone know good software for doing this?  Musicmatch on a PC used to
be great -- would query CDDB and provide options for you to choose
from for Artist, Album, Song, Genre, Album Artwork, etc.  Is there
equivalent mac software, ideally free- or share-ware?

The 'Path Finder' app is installed in the /Applications folder as

subdirectories, one of which finally has various html files that I want
to browse with Firefox.  But when I start the Open dialog, all the di-

Exporting in iPhoto04 May 2007 01:09 GMT1
I have pre-sized all the photos I plan to export to have a maximum
dimension of 800 pixels by something less.  When I export for the web, I
specify the maximum size as 800.  Quite a few come out with maximum
dimensions less than 800.  How can I force iPhoto to export the desired

I have the complete collection of Computer Modern Postscript fonts
obtained from a TeX download and stored as individual font files with
names like CMxxxx in my OS 10.3.9 usr/Library/Fonts folder, and they
work fine with TeXShop.
