Restoring my mail from bnackup01 Jun 2007 00:54 GMT12
My Powermac suddenly shut down while I was composing an email in
Mail.app (I have power supply problems and am just waiting for new Macs
to come out next month, so I'm using this machine for only a few more
weeks).

Audio Hijack Pro - peak level31 May 2007 23:38 GMT1
I use Audio Hijack Pro to record internet streams. I have some
difficulties to adjust the peak level.
There's "Master Gain", there's VU meters, but the controls are so
bloody small that it's really hard to determine if the recording is
Position of icons on desktop31 May 2007 22:55 GMT8
I have three "icons" representing partitions of my HD on the desk top.
We also keep many "saved" things before we either delete or file on the
desk top.
The computer is shut down nightly and re-booted in the am.  Invariably,
Gen 3 FW iPod & iTunes for Windoze31 May 2007 22:39 GMT4
I just replaced my gen 3 iPod with a spiffy, new video model.  I am
thinking of giving the old one to a friend with a PC.  Her PC doesn't
have FW, but I could buy a card for less than $20.  What I am wondering
is, is there a version of iTunes for Windows that supports FireWire?
'Lips' in Mail!31 May 2007 22:25 GMT7
My mother asked me if I could remove the logo of a pink pair of lips from
her outgoing mail messages. I don't use Mail but figured it couldn't be too
hard. Well, I've given up. I can't find a preference anywhere in Mail to add
this (or any) logo to outgoing mail.
iTunes will not start31 May 2007 20:52 GMT10
A very frustrating situation as I just purchased my iMac; it's using
an Intel processor, OS version is 10.4.9
I've searched high and low for a solution but have yet to resolve the
situation. Simply put, when trying to start iTunes, it acts like I
The PICT format? -- and PICTs in Illustrator?31 May 2007 19:56 GMT9
I have numerous PICTs that were created a couple of decades ago.  When I
open one of these today using Illustrator CS, I see a small postage
stamp size cc of the image positioned about one artboard's width and
height up to the left from the upper left corner of the artboard (I
Video conversions in Mac OS X 10.431 May 2007 18:26 GMT5
I'm new to video editing, and I'm having a tough time doing what I
want. I've created a movie in iMovie HD (easy and smooth) and exported
it as an MPEG-4 file. While this works fine in Quicktime, my friend, a
Windows user, can't play the file in Windows Media Player, and doesn't

Mac OS X Speech Recognition31 May 2007 13:36 GMT165
I have a family member who is partially disabled. I was thinking it
would be quite handy for a disabled person to be able to use spoken
voice to ask a Mac with microphone attached to look up a word in the
dictionary, thesaurus, or encyclopedia, or maybe verify if a word is

Apple Mail Question31 May 2007 00:05 GMT3
Does anyone know if there's stationery out there that we can get to use
with Apple Mail? I understand that Leopard is going to offer that when
it comes out, but is there any way we can '"zip ahead" now?
