| Isync came unsunk | 25 Mar 2007 02:13 GMT | 2 |
Er - I'd be most grateful for a suggestion to solve this oddity: I upgraded to 10.4.9. Then I found that it's not compatible with Final Cut Pro 4.5. I installed 10.4.6, then did the 4.7 and 4.8 upgrades. Somehow in all that lot isync managed to commit hara-kiri.

| iCal bug not fixed in 10.4.9 | 24 Mar 2007 23:47 GMT | 10 |
The 10.4.9 release notes say that they fixed the problem where alarms pop up off the edge of the screen. Not so! It's fixed if iCal is running, but if you get an alarm when iCal is not running it still pops up mostly off-screen.

| Quicken 2005 | 24 Mar 2007 21:26 GMT | 1 |

Graphicconverter usually opens jpegs at 100%, 1 screen pixel per file pixel. If the file has more pixels than the screen, I have to scale it down to see it all without scrolling. By default, Preview scales down a picture like that to the biggest size

| Panic's Transmit toolbar buttons "disappear" after upgrade to 10.4.9 | 24 Mar 2007 13:34 GMT | 4 |
I'm wondering if anyone has observed something odd with Panic's Transmit. After I upgraded the OS of my 20" Intel iMac to 10.4.9 the buttons at the top of the window have apparently mostly disappeared when I launch the application. Minimising to dock then bringing it back sorts ...

| Window focus on hover in OS X | 24 Mar 2007 11:47 GMT | 11 |
Is there any way to set the window manager behavior on Mac OS X such that it will focus on the window under the mouse pointer, without having to click it? After using Linux for several years, I find this feature quite quite comfortable, and wish I could have it in OS X.

| free/cheap mac newsreader which kills references | 24 Mar 2007 11:31 GMT | 2 |
I use macsoup, which doesn't appear able to killfile according to references- e.g. so that a thread started by a particular poster would be completely ignored. (Can it?) Any ideas for another one? I don't read binary newsgroups.
