Converting .SWF files21 Jan 2007 18:15 GMT1
Is it possible to convert .SWF (Flash animations) into other formats?
I've downloaded some SWF animations and would like to add them to
iPhoto, but that means I would have to convert them to some other
format, and possibly splitting up the contents somehow.
Parallels Windows XP or Vista?21 Jan 2007 15:19 GMT9
(Sorry if this is the wrong forum for these questions--if so, please
direct me to the right place.)
Is it worth buying Windows XP to run with Parallels now that the release
of Vista is supposedly imminent? What about getting Windows 2000 now
3GB vs. 2GB RAM for iPhoto?21 Jan 2007 05:36 GMT10
I am close now to purchasing a MacBook Pro.  One of the big uses will
be managing photos while I am on the road (vacation).  I use the iPhoto
Library Manager, but still have libraries of 10-20GB each and wondered
what kind of performance improvement I would see with 3GB of RAM ...
Limiting iTunes bandwidth consumption...21 Jan 2007 04:33 GMT4
When iTunes goes out and polls for podcasts (I've been subscribing to
quite a few, both audio and video lately), it absolutely hammers my
broadband connection, to the annoyance of anyone on the network trying
to do anything else.  Is there a way to throttle the amount of
iMovie or iDVD?21 Jan 2007 00:57 GMT11
Recent first time Grandpa here. Have made it through the digital camera
stage and am able to take reasonable good pictures. Am going to buy the
parents a DV video camera. Will be using my new iMac to work with the
video instead of my old G4 iMac that I gave to them. I know nothing

OOeee, capitalization not saved20 Jan 2007 21:18 GMT20
I know I am flogging this G4 something terrible these last days
(big image files with quite a few programs open, layout stuff and
so on...) but just now, saving files with capital letters in say
Fireworks, they turn up sans capitals in the file system!
Mac Mail app20 Jan 2007 18:00 GMT6
I'm sure I am probably missing something but I am new to the Mac, so help
would be appreciated.
The Mac's on board mail client, why is the text size so small on some
incoming mail? It is not on all mail so presumably the senders settings have
Cyberduck20 Jan 2007 12:30 GMT11
Since the very latest update, this program has been especially
slow to start (I was never a bolter!) on my machine. I wonder
what on earth it is doing? Spying on me?
Core Duo Macs w/XP installed: Backup strategies20 Jan 2007 11:19 GMT7
Well it's proving to be a learning experience! Take two finds XP and
host of windoze applications installed on a MacBook Pro (while
installing third party drivers on the first attempt XP melted down and
required a clean install).
Visual Hub to WMV , but no audio20 Jan 2007 05:19 GMT1
Using Visual Hub (G4 - Panther) to convert mpeg with audio to WMV but
the resulting file has no sound.

Route streaming audio through iTunes?20 Jan 2007 00:24 GMT4
I've got subscriptions to some online music servers that play streaming
audio (just streaming, not downloadable files) and would love to listen
to them on my stereo, but would rather not run cables from my computer
to the amp in the next room. I have an AirPort Extreme base station ...
Vertical writing in Open-/NeoOffice19 Jan 2007 23:15 GMT2
How do I enter text in a vertical position in NeoOffice (or
OpenOffice)?
I can't figure it out by googling, and I'm really a newbie when it
comes to word-processing.
Hogwasher One Window/pane view19 Jan 2007 22:49 GMT2
In the Hogwasher 4.0 help file you it states that you can make hogwasher a
one window application similar to Outlook Express. The problem is that it
doesn't tell you how to accomplish the one window layout. I tried
