Safari and animated gifs24 Jan 2007 11:25 GMT6
It strikes me that I do not know if and how to stop animated gifs
looping in Safari (brick thru the screen?). My first call is to
you lot. See how I always think of you first? Try not to be too
overjoyed, calm down.
Missing print keys what to do?24 Jan 2007 11:20 GMT15
I haven't had this a year yet and the print on  2 keys is gone.  They
are the T Key and E key.  I  thought about putting a small piece of
tape with the  letter(s) on the keys?   Is that ok?

Mailing List software?24 Jan 2007 04:09 GMT2
This is a bit off topic because it is not Mac related BUT thought one
of my fellow Macheads might know the answer.
One of my web clients wants a Mailing List 'letterbox' set up on his

In iTunes' Preferences > Advanced > Importing, I set Import Using = ACC
Encoder, Setting = Custom. I then select Stereo Bit Rate = 64 kbps. Whenever
I convert an MP3 file to ACC it always comes out 32 kbps. The original MP3

Thoth problems23 Jan 2007 18:45 GMT13
All of a sudden I've having problems with Thoth. It won't fully start up, and
there are words missing in the various windows that come up.
I thought this was a font problem due to some recent woes I've had in other
apps, so I ran Font Doctor, but that didn't help. I trashed my prefs ...
iTunes and audiobooks' time readout23 Jan 2007 16:10 GMT1
I combined several mp3 files into one, applied the M4P magic (making it a
bookmarkable file) and imported the result into iTunes where iTunes reports
that the length is only 2 minutes (the length of the first of the original
segments). When played, the time remaining counts down ...
Re-partition external hard drive?23 Jan 2007 13:27 GMT9
I have a 60GB external hard drive. When I bought it I was still using
windows and it wanted me to create 3 partitions on it because it
apparently couldn't work with one big 60GB partition (yack!).
Now, that's really dumb, and I want it to be one big partition.

I had several iPhoto albums containing photos in which the date/time on

DVD and deleted the originals from the iPhoto library.
When I insert the DVD, the dates/times shown are correct.  But if I try
How can I override the built in iSight camera on my MacBook pro23 Jan 2007 02:57 GMT3
I have a MacBook Pro -  Intel with a built in iSight camera.  Great
cam, but fixed position limits its utility.  Assuming I can get another
camera to work, like a Logitech with the macam driver???, or dare I
imagine a Fuji E550 (has a web cam capability, but of course no
Keyboard input of multiple chars23 Jan 2007 02:55 GMT7
Does anyone know if there's  a way to input characters with  multiple diacritical

For example, I've been trying to do pinyin (Chinese) input, and there are six
marked vowels.  It was easy to make letters like à, é, ī, ǒ and ü.  But there are
