Making your own ringtones?18 Dec 2006 18:05 GMT4
I'm looking for a quick and easy way to make my own MP3 ringtones.
Can anyone suggest the best way to cut out a portion of an MP3 file, and do a
fade in and out, for a 30-second short MP3 file that would make a good ringtone?
Software recommendations or shortcuts accepted -- I have ...
Acrobat Reader 818 Dec 2006 16:10 GMT10
I'm curious. I just installed Acrobat Reader 8 on a core2duo. Why does
the install require an admin password to complete? I've always found
their applications and installers to be somewhat "aggressive."

mail.app and address book17 Dec 2006 02:07 GMT4
In mail.app, if I start to type an address and the application completes
it, I thought this meant the address was in Address Book.  I've found
this isn't necessarily so.  If I want to remove an obsolete address that
fills in automatically but isn't in Address Book, where will I ...

Okay, I know some of you Hogwasher fans hang out here. I am trying out
Hogwasher to see if I like it. It seems okay, although there are a few things
that bug me:
1) Messages that contain URLs are shown as just plain text. You can't click

XM crashes FireFox16 Dec 2006 14:30 GMT3
Trying to play a stream from xmradio.com causes Firefox 2.0 to crash
under MacOS X 10.4.7 with the latest Flip4Mac installed. By "Crash" I
mean Firefox enters a neverending SWOD. This is not just on one system,
but every single Mac we have, so I'd tend to discount machine-specific
