I have trouble setting up Mail to send any kind of email.
My company has 2 servers. Server 1 uses IMAP/SSL + SMTP + SSL with
authentication, Server 2 is an exchange server and uses plain SMTP with
authentication.

For other Hogwasher fans out there, there's an update available: a Christmas
present :-)
And Merry Christmas to all Mac users out there from me.

Graphics application to stretch image31 Dec 2006 01:36 GMT12
I am looking for a graphics application for OSX that will let me select
a (thin) vertical slice of an image, and then replicate that slice many
times over at an arbitrary point in the image.
Basically I have some logos I want to use in web pages, and I need them
Can my PB G4 Ti (400MHz) handle kids' educational games?31 Dec 2006 00:06 GMT1
I've just upgraded to a new MacBook Pro for my business, and won't
need the old TiBook for that anymore.  I'm trying to decide if I should
scrap it to sell as spare parts (the AirPort card alone is worth a good
bit) to get a used machine for the kids, or give it to my six-year ...
Dictionary/thesaurus for Mac OS X?30 Dec 2006 23:44 GMT52
I used to have the American Heritage online dictionary and thesaurus for
Mac OS 9 and liked it (specifically, liked its simple interface) quite a
lot.
Since my understanding is that the AHED has not been upgraded to OS X, I
Page up/down in Terminal?30 Dec 2006 20:45 GMT2
Looking in the Scrollback menu in Terminal, I see that Cmd-Up Arrow and Cmd
Down Arrow accomplish line-by-line scrolling. But the key combinations for
Page Up and Page Down are not familiar to me. The arrow symbols have what
looks like an equal sign through them. Similarly, ...
iPod volume on/off30 Dec 2006 16:28 GMT10
I just got an iPod for Christmas. I can barely hear it and there
doesn't appear to be an obvious way to 1. turn up the volume 2. turn it
off . The instructions don't mention either of these options and the
menuing is really confusing. Is there someplace on the web that
Mac Quickbooks to Windows Quickbooks30 Dec 2006 15:40 GMT3
I have been using Quickbooks for Mac and plan to purchase a new Mac
Intel Duo computer.  I'm told that the Windows vers of QB makes the
current Mac version look primitive.  Consequently, will be purchasing
current vers of QB Windows.   I know there's supposed to be a way to

iTunes - burned CDs don't play29 Dec 2006 21:40 GMT25
Not sure what I'm doing wrong this time, but I had gotten this to work
on my older G4 iMac.
I imported a CD first using AAC, then using Apple Lossless. I set the
Preferences to Burn Audio CD. Both CDs play in the iMac. However,
MacBook, Boot Camp, and external monitors29 Dec 2006 16:58 GMT4
I bought a nice Apple LCD "Cinema Display" monitor to attach to my
MacBook.  Unfortunately, when I boot it into Windows XP using Boot Camp
(which I HAVE to do occasionally because of some specialized software I
use), the MacBook apparently doesn't know how to talk to the external
