[9.2.2] iCab 3.0.3 still crashes when going anywhere24 Nov 2006 20:14 GMT2
This is an update to my attempts to get this program to work. iCab 3.0.3
still won't work when launched from the boot volume of my G4/1.5GHz (AGP
graphics) with 1.37GB of RAM (135MB allocated to the app). It runs fine
from my alternate boot volume (what I call my pristine system, ...
iPhoto prints to wrong printer24 Nov 2006 20:05 GMT3
iPhoto keeps wanting to print to my Laserjet, rather than to my color printer.
And it doesn't get the paper size right either... #!$%# - so actually I
have 2 problems but I'm not sure if they might be related.
I'm not sure which update caused this, but I am positive it didn't use
Cropping tracks for burning in iTunes24 Nov 2006 07:14 GMT1
You know how you can specify the start and stop times for tracks in
iTunes? Particularly useful when you buy CDs with "hidden" tracks on
them. Is it possible to maintain that cropping for the burn process? Or
is that best done in QuickTime Pro or something?
iPhoto bug: "Reset sliders" deletes photo content (everything black)23 Nov 2006 22:35 GMT2
iPhoto 6 was definitely *not* worth the buy. It's still pretty slow
(especially "saving changes") and there are hardly any useful
improvements. The only nice thing is the "edit photo" function on black
fullscreen.
synching mail on two machines23 Nov 2006 17:50 GMT20
Is there a way to synch mail messages on two Macs, both running Tiger?
(10.4.7 and 10.4.8)? Machines are connected on a home network via
Ethernet.

How can I make a smart folder of all pictures that I have emailed to
others using mail? It seems that I can do it, but I am a bit confused
as to how.
Thanks,
Adobe Acrobat and CanoScan scanners?23 Nov 2006 00:18 GMT2
I can operate my older CanoScan N1220U from Adobe Photoshop Elements
under OS 10.3.9 using a CanoPI plugin in the Photoshop Elements folder.
I'd like to do this using Adobe Acrobat 7 instead (because Acrobat is
usually open and PE isn't) (and PE is slow to open), but can't figure
Java 1.5 on 10.2.8?22 Nov 2006 13:16 GMT1
I have an old Mac Wallstreet II which won't run anything more recent
than 10.2.8.
The Java 1.5 package on apple.com is only for MacOS 10.4 or newer, and
I need to run some apps that have to have 1.5 to run.
iTunes -selecting columns22 Nov 2006 09:53 GMT4
Using iTunes 7.0.2 I find myself irritated every time I create a new
playlist because every time I have to deselect all the columns I don't
want.
For example, I usually have no interest in the "My rating", "Play
Simple music write-and-play app?22 Nov 2006 05:20 GMT13
Long ago there was Music Construction Set. Just put in your notes on
the staff and play it back.
Is there any such program available today? Just something simple ,so I
can enter the notes from sheet music and play the music back.

I see /usr/X11R6 installed.
Keyword (tag, comment) assistant for iTunes21 Nov 2006 23:02 GMT3
Tagging the songs in your iTunes library is very fruitfull, but also
very cumbersome. Right now, the only way to do it seems to be: write
down some (comma seperated) tags in the comment field of a song.
Contrary, for iPhoto, there are a few programs that can help you with
MIDI-file tags (in iTunes)21 Nov 2006 17:21 GMT1
For some strange reason some of my MIDI files which I've placed in
iTunes (7.0.2) can't keep their names.
In other words, in the "Name" field in iTunes I've given a MIDI file a
name of my choice, but when I click on it to play the song it changes
