Stickies alternatives29 Nov 2006 00:04 GMT22
Looking for one that 1) opens in 1 click 2) saves in 1 click 3) is

reopened out of a directory automatically pops open as a Sticky, not as
a text file or something else than what I started with, graphically.

video equivalent of iPhoto?28 Nov 2006 23:40 GMT1
I've been converting old VHS and Hi-8 home movies to miniDV and waiting
for storage to get cheap enough that I can put these on a HD, where
access will be very fast, including fast forward. Prices are getting
there and I'm starting to think about what software to use. Any
Get out of full screen mode on X1128 Nov 2006 22:32 GMT2
I googled and found a message that said that I could toggle modes.
But when I type control-click there is no toggle in the main options
window.
All I have is an xterm window in full screen mode.
OS X "top" command28 Nov 2006 21:07 GMT19
On every other Unix/Linux system I've used, the top command's default
sort order is CPU percentage, i.e. it shows the most active processes at
the top.  This is almost always what people are interested in -- they
run top when the system is running slowly and they want to know ...
Frustrated with Apple Care service28 Nov 2006 20:43 GMT76
Took my computer to an Apple-authorized service center last Tuesday for
hard-drive problems that the Apple hardware test tool identified. On
the basis of this ID, I was told by Apple to take it in. The Apple guy
(a service center with only one Apple tech) was out that day at a
iChat, Netgear WPN824 Router28 Nov 2006 19:54 GMT2
I've lost my ability to use iChat since adding a router to my system.
I've been reading web hints all afternoon but nothing has helped.
The router is a Netgear WPN834 v2.  It has the default IP of
192.168.1.1 and the Mac has the static IP of 192.168.1.2  I've turned

Frustrated with AppleCare service, redux.28 Nov 2006 14:57 GMT6
I'm going to phrase this in such a way as not to start a sh.t-storm,
since I really do need your advice. The hard drive for my puny G4 iBook
has now been on order for 11 days. Took the machine in on the 14th, it
was diagnosed by midday on the 16th. It's now the 27th, and they're

We all know that Wombats are to be found in Zoos.

Exporting/Importing Address book contacts to new Mac28 Nov 2006 02:22 GMT16
I have a new iMac and would like to import my Address Book contacts from
my old Mac. Machines are connected via Ethernet. However, in Address
Book it seems like you can only export one VCard at a time. Is there way
to export the whole thing. Or import the whole thing?
