Safari and Vanguard?30 Nov 2006 23:13 GMT18
Starting a few days ago, I have trouble logging on to Vanguard using
Safari (2.0.4, OSX 10.4.8). The site page loads fine but doesn't seem
to recognize my password (when I submit the password, I just get the
logon page back).
Mail and passwords30 Nov 2006 19:50 GMT9
Every now and then Mail asks me for my passwords for pop accounts
it is trying to access. I dutifully type in and even tick the
"remember in keychain" and it goes on happily, days later
sometimes it will happen again? This morning a bad case of no
newsreaders again - not so crazy about Unison, but30 Nov 2006 16:48 GMT8
I'm looking for a newsreader that is preferably available as a
Universal binary. I've been using Unison for a few days, but it's not
very feature rich for a newsreader. I have been using MT-Newswatcher
(an older version) on my G4 (also running Tiger) for years now and it's
Help needed: Addressbook data lost?30 Nov 2006 15:58 GMT6
My addressbook froze up today while I was trying to add a new contact,
and I ended up force quitting it. But when I reopened Addressbook, all
of my data seems to be missing -- all of my addresses, my groups,
everything.

want to actually conect to any server I have access to? "unable

At this stage, please, has anyone had any luck with this Firefox
Unison -- multiple servers active at same time?30 Nov 2006 04:27 GMT21
I just installed Unison and have been playing with it. Nice interface,
but some features I would like to see don't appear to be here. The
simplest one is this: in my old MT-Newswatcher I can open several news
servers at the same time. In Unison, it seems one has to keep switching ...

Audio software for Macs?30 Nov 2006 00:06 GMT17
I seek freeware or open source software that will allow me to extract
the audio portion of .MOV files, allow me to save the extracted audio in
a variety of formats and also allow fairly precise editing of the sound.
Anyone have any suggestions? TIA.
Open Office29 Nov 2006 20:35 GMT8
Perhaps Open Office for Mac is not for me! I notice lots of
unsatisfactory things. Better try that Neo one. I mention, in
case it is just my set up. Seems clunky.
It does not like clippings, it has Windows keyboard commands,
Safari Performance Questions29 Nov 2006 20:27 GMT14
Lately my Safari browser has been performing strangely.  Often the blue
bar that sweeps across the "http" window at the top of the Safari page
does not complete its sweep and locks up.  Also, I am noticing
statements at the bottom of the Safari page saying things like
What is UninstallGuard and why is it causing crashes?29 Nov 2006 18:57 GMT12
Since my PB's last upgrade (10.4.8), I've been getting a lot of crashes of
what looks like random apps, and when I look in the Console log, what
I see is stuff like these two most recent crashes:
UninstallGuard: TypeError: Components.classes['@mozilla.org/extensions/manager;1'] has ...

Best OS X (Tiger) Newsreader?29 Nov 2006 04:12 GMT8
Hi, this is not a troll and I'm not looking for a flamewar.    I
searched this group for any opinions on RSS newsreaders and all of the
posts were months (if not years) old.
So, what is the current favorites among the group?
Bootcamp issue29 Nov 2006 04:08 GMT5

Pac 2; I loaded the Mac drivers. Now All I can do is run Windows. How
do I switch back and forth between Windows and Mac or start up in Mac,
if I want?

Hi at all
I'm sorry for the stupid question but I'm not a Mac expert so I'm
tring to ask to people knowing more than me about this argument.
I need to make an internet voice call (voip) with a person using a
