Require a "Subject" before sending a message in Mail13 Sep 2006 23:21 GMT2
OK, I know this is a stupid one but all my googling has not yielded the
answer... yet.
I would like to have Mail force me, or at least prompt me, to enter a
subject before sending an e-mail message without one. As I recall,
JunkMatcher vs. SpamSieve13 Sep 2006 19:35 GMT2
In the "Quickly block email" thread, many posters have said that they
use SpamSieve and it works well.  I've been using JunkMatcher for a
couple of years, it also seems to be pretty good, although some of its
heuristics result in false positives.  Luckily my ISP filters out 90% ...

With single layer media so very, very cheap these days, I was looking
for a program to shrink a typical 7 gb DVD movie down to about 4.5 gb.
Even without the extras the main feature is usually at least 5 gb so its
just slightly too big.  Any recommendations?  I think Windows ...

RSS Feed Aggravation12 Sep 2006 18:19 GMT5
I am currently using NetNewsWire to access a number of RSS feeds. I have in
the range of 30 subscriptions. At the end of a session with NetNewsWire I
select all of the subscriptions and then click on the Mark All As Read
button. All of the subscriptions are then un-bolded and the ...
Local electronic dictionary/thesaurus?12 Sep 2006 17:29 GMT5
Prior to OS X I used and was happy with the American Heritage Dictionary
and its associated thesaurus and stuff.  I'd like to move up to an OS X
native version.  Any recommendations on "best for the money" choice
among the competitors in this area?

My browser of choice is Mozilla's WaMCom 1.3.1 on my souped-up

typing "about:config" in the Navigation toolbar (where you normally
enter a URL) and changing settings. I'd like to know if anyone knows

This summer I took a 10 day vacation in Europe, and took nearly 300
