OS X and Fink23 Sep 2006 19:05 GMT4
Is there any way of installing a new version of a Fink installed package
using Fink?  I installed pine 4.58 using Fink and now want to upgrade to
pine4.64.  I am a newbie to Unix and I find the process of using tar and
gz very  confusing and thought this might be a possible way of ...
New iPod Feature23 Sep 2006 01:58 GMT4
I hear the newest iPods have a new feature that allows you to more
easily navigate through your collection of tunes.  I think it's
something like being able to select the letter "N," for example, which
jumps you down to your songs that start with "N."  Does anyone know if
iSync/iCal + phone sync problems23 Sep 2006 00:02 GMT5
For some reason, some of the events I enter in iCal show up as an hour
later on my phone after syncing, while other dates are OK. The rest of
the information is synced fine.
I don't know if this has to do with specific dates or days ahead in

Hello. Unfortunately, I am in need of money to pay my credit card

Safari, pdf, and annoyances22 Sep 2006 12:01 GMT5
From time to time I access a pdf with Safari and get the prompt -'which

correct answer is Preview, but the dialog doesn't permit this choice.
Can someone please remind me how to get rid of this unwanted ...

Recording audio direct to CD21 Sep 2006 23:22 GMT12

from a single mic onto my iBook.
There are several apps (including Garageband) that will allow me to
Nice: iTunes 7 is fast21 Sep 2006 20:06 GMT2
I skimmed several reviews of iTunes 7 on blogs etc. No one seems to
mention one really good new thing: It's now fast! I have 20GB of music,
and the search in the old version was really slow. When I started
typing in the search box it would not be able to keep pace with my
iTunes 7 & iBook G4; AirTunes dead21 Sep 2006 19:48 GMT8
I just upgraded from iTunes 6.0.5 to 7.  I am running 10.4.7 on an iBook
G4/1.42 MHz w/ 1 gig of ram.  I also upgraded to the new QuikTime right
after the iTunes install.  I now cannot connect to my airport express.
iTunes sees it, and it shows up in the Multiple Speakers box, ...
Footdrag?  WTF?21 Sep 2006 16:20 GMT4
Periodically I'll paste something, I'm not positive but I think it's
between programs, and the text "footdrag" will come up.  I feel quite
sure that I haven't clipped the word footdrag EVER.  I've encountered
it in DevonThink Pro as wells as Logic Express, though I was not
Killing Crossposted Messages In MT-Newswatcher21 Sep 2006 15:24 GMT7
Is there a way in MT-NewsWatcher to automatically kill any message
crossposted to three more newsgroups. I currently have several filters
that kill messages crossposted to groups I don't and never will read,
but messages are still slipping through. I would love to find a way to
