Trouble using thesaurus in Word for Mac 200411 Sep 2006 23:23 GMT4
I'm having trouble using my thesaurus. It will work for some words in
my document but not others. All the words are English (US). When I
clicked on help, it said my proofing tools were not installed. I
checked in my applications folder for Office and they are in there.
iTunes deleted all the artwork?!?11 Sep 2006 21:58 GMT9
Since I really don't need the album artwork displayed on my iPod
anymore - it takes up too much room on the display - I fired up iTunes
and de-selected the option to "Display album artwork on your iPod".
Then a funny thing happened:

Any LOGICAL reasons for Apple to allow 16 GBs of ram in new Mac?11 Sep 2006 14:38 GMT32
Can anyone even think of a case where 16 GB of ram would be
"beneficial"?
Just curious.

Bug in Safari 1.3.2?11 Sep 2006 11:58 GMT7
I have an asp.net website built which allows file uploads via <input
type="file" />.  I also have an <input type="reset"/> button as well.
My users are reporting that if they select a file then click the reset
button, nothing happens.  Any ideas?
toolbar: get rid of american flag (character palette)?11 Sep 2006 08:26 GMT5
The toolbar shows lots of unnecessary things, e.g. the American flag,
signalizing that I'm using the American character palette. Also the
PPPoE status is shown, but I don't need that.
How can I turn these unnecessary toolbar icons off?
Need a good card game for my Intel Mac?  Please read11 Sep 2006 08:12 GMT7
My elderly father uses my Imac and loves Hoyles Card Games for Windows,
this has become the only reason anyone uses boot camp on a daily basis!
Ive researched and apparently there is no modern version of Hoyles
that will run on the Intel Mac in OSX.   He enjoys Spades, Pinocole,
Firfefox 1.5.6: viewing online news videos11 Sep 2006 03:21 GMT7
When I go to news sites, like CNN, and try to play one of their videos,
Firefox balks and throws up an error box saying it cannot find the
video player then I get a MediaPlayer Connectivity menu that wants me
to browse and find my Windows Media Player.  I am using Flip4Mac
Put back from trash10 Sep 2006 23:43 GMT6
Is there a simple way to put something you trashed back from
where it came in OS X even when you have forgotten. I think I
used to use simple command y on pre-x but see no equivalent I
recognise now. Please.
computer lab - way to send logs to a central computer?10 Sep 2006 23:40 GMT4
How can I configure a lab of 10.4 machines to forward their log entries
automatically to a central host? I'm having intermittent network
troubles at different computers and would like a way to view all log
entries at the same time from my admin computer. Is syslog the right
Mail.app tweak?10 Sep 2006 21:22 GMT5
Is there a tweak somewhere that controls how Mail.app works when you
delete a message (or mark it as junk) ?
For example, if you delete the fourth message, it's the third message
that ends up highlighted.  If you have lots of messages to go through,
Mac equivalent to Oscar's Renamer?10 Sep 2006 19:39 GMT6
I am told that Oscar's Renamer for Windows enables you to open a folder
and list the titles of, say, 30 mp3 files as text. You can then copy a
different list of 30 titles from a separate text document and paste
these new titles over the old titles, thus renaming  all of the old
Skype_BETA_1.5: Misc error?10 Sep 2006 18:23 GMT3
Skype_BETA_1.5.0.75, MacBook osx 10.4.7
What does "Misc error" mean and how do I fix it?
After several Skype video crashes and at least one shutdown-start
cycles, I was able to connect with my friend in a video conference.
New Mac Pro -- Game Suggestions?10 Sep 2006 14:22 GMT5
I asked this same question the last time I got a new Mac, over four
years ago.  Peter Cohen turned me on to the wonderful (yet
under-appreciated) Giants -- Citizen Kabuto.  Now I've picked up a new
Mac Pro and it's time to ask the question again:  What's the best Mac
OS X wish list. Wish 64.10 Sep 2006 12:07 GMT16
The trash icon as an option in the directory window head would be
nice too.
