VoodooPad Query23 Aug 2006 18:51 GMT3
I keep trying VoodooPad as it is such a fine looking application; my
problem is that I just can't find a use for it. Maybe I am just failing
to /get/ the whole personal wiki thing because I feel I should be able
to use it somehow.
Safari / Hogwasher / Mail -- Unwanted Interaction?23 Aug 2006 11:51 GMT8
I frequently have Safari, Hogwasher, and Mail all open at the same time and
will be switching amongst them. What frequently (often several times a day)
happens is that I'll want to use Safari and find that it is hung and needs to
be force quit. And, try as I might, I can't ...
Preview's "Flip" doesn't always work23 Aug 2006 05:21 GMT2
Actually, what happens is even more bizarre.  I have a couple of pictures that
I'd like mirrored.  So I tried loading them into Preview, doing "Flip Vertical",
and the picture was the mirror of before.  So I saved them using "Save As",
adding a char 'L' or 'R' to the file names to ...
Apple Mail crashes on launch22 Aug 2006 22:31 GMT20
Apple Mail won't run and is crashing at launch. I've received the
following error in console.log:
Mac OS X Version 10.2.8 (Build 6R73)
dyld: /Applications/Mail.app/Contents/MacOS/Mail can't open library:
iTunes sharing pc to mac problem22 Aug 2006 21:39 GMT5
I have a network with a pc where all my music is stored, and a macbook.
Both have iTunes installed.  The pc has sharing enabled with a
password on iTunes, and shows up on the macbook in iTunes, however when
I click on it on the macbook, it does not ask for a password, and just
Need Help for Transfer Mac--->Mac22 Aug 2006 16:51 GMT23
Couple years ago, I gave my trusty old 7200/75 mac to a friend who
finally gave up on Windows, in frustration. I told me that it on old
machine and that he could get a decent newer machine for not very much.
But he wanted to try it and it turned out that he was happy messing
MacScan automation22 Aug 2006 09:02 GMT5
Okay, the current Consumer Reports magazine article on computer security
spooked me sufficiently to download, try and then buy MacScan
<www.macscan.securemac.com> I am especially anal about it since I was
recently the victim of online ID theft.
Locking items into "Open Recent" menus?22 Aug 2006 01:51 GMT12
An increasing number of Mac apps seem to have both Open. . . and
Open Recent . . . menus.  Is the latter a built-in system capability in
OS X, or just a custom extension of the standard Open menu command?
Mathematica in particular has a Preference option that allows one to
Tiger date management22 Aug 2006 00:01 GMT2
There seems to be a fault with the file date management system in
Mac OS X, at least in Tiger 10.4.7. I am quite frequently
confronted by notices that tell me that the folder I am wanting
to replace is younger than the one I know I have just modified.
Mulberry returns! Freeware now too!21 Aug 2006 21:00 GMT4
I think it will make old timer Mac users happy. I understand Mullberry
author re-gained rights to distrubute/update his own program.
Get it from Versiontracker so downloads will be counted. Also I hope
they setup a donation page.
Audion 3/Free - Down to 30 stations?21 Aug 2006 18:00 GMT17
I don't use internet radio that much and occasionally use itunes for
that.
Today I launched Audion 3 which went free some time back.
I run OS 9 on this machine.
Mac OS X and Windows printers?21 Aug 2006 15:25 GMT42
After literally decades of hesitation about leaving the Windows world,
I finally took the plunge and bought a MacBook yesterday.  Everything
is great so far, except for one thing:  It appears that I won't be able
to print to a fairly expensive Konica-Minolta 2300 color laser printer
Looking for an email client that lets me do this:21 Aug 2006 12:59 GMT6
I want to be able to switch the way messages look when they are
received (Just the From field) and when the recipient hits reply (the
to Field). I don't want to create seperate accounts. Just a little drop
down box or something where I can choose to have an email I send look
[9.2.2] TurboMem and Turbo Internet - worthwhile?21 Aug 2006 03:45 GMT3
I'm trying these two apps from Mac Unicorn Software again, after
a long time not using them, and I'm not sure if they really do anything
to improve performance or not. I'm hoping someone out there knows,
and wouldn't mind enlightening me.
