when I open safari:
> Safari 2.0.4 (v419.3) has not been tested with the plugin (null) (null) (v0.61). As a precaution, it has not been loaded.

Why so much memory?26 Aug 2006 05:04 GMT2
Why do programs in OS X take up so much memory?  I just start up
Photoshop 7 and it immediatly consumes 76 MB RAM and 388 MB Virtual
Memory.  388 MB of WHAT??  That's a lot of stuff!  I remember the days
when I could run Photoshop 4 on a computer that only had 128 MB RAM and
Virus, Firewall, and Backup Programs26 Aug 2006 04:44 GMT11
I am switching from PC to Mac now and have a question.  I know in the
Mac field there are far fewer virus issues but I assume that still
some type of virus program is needed as well as a firewall.  Is this
true and if so which one is best?  With the PC I use Norton for
Palm TX and Pocket Tunes Deluxe26 Aug 2006 04:23 GMT1

considering getting Pocket Tunes Deluxe.  The website talks a lot but
says little.  Does anyone know the following:

AuthorTools in Mathematica:  Don't omit the .nb suffix26 Aug 2006 01:39 GMT6
Just went through a *big* hassle with an add-on package AuthorTools that

Turned out the problem was leaving the .nb prefix off the notebooks
involved.   The basic Mathematica app was OK with this; the package ...
SQL Formatter Service26 Aug 2006 00:13 GMT1
Does anyone know of a Mac app that will format SQL? Kind of like this
page: http://www.wangz.net/cgi-bin/pp/gsqlparser/sqlpp/sqlformat.tpl,
but I want to have a native app that I can pipe text into via the
Services menu. If no app like this exists, I'd like to write one.
Powerbook G4 battery recalled25 Aug 2006 21:28 GMT4
I just ordered a new battery for my Powerbook G4, since mine was one of
the ones that they recalled.  It says that once I recieve the new
battery, I should send them the old one for "proper disposal".  Is it
really necessary to do this?  What if I just keep it and use it as a
Help with IChat AV   something expired25 Aug 2006 20:13 GMT1

Mail.app created duplicated messages while moving them!25 Aug 2006 19:56 GMT2
I'm having a very weird problem...
I've decided to get rid of the 8500 message I have in my inbox folder
and the 3000+ I have in my sent folder, by creating a folder with two
subfolders (one for each) and moving the messages there, so that my
