The mouse can set up among the letters in a name but nothing from
keyboard happens! Never experienced this. I ran Disk utility and

Converting Thunderbird for Windows to Mac OS X31 Aug 2006 08:13 GMT1
This may be a trivial question, so I'll apologise beforehand.
I've got Thunderbird 1.5.0.5 running on Windows XP and I want to
convert my mail/addressbook/settings to Thunderbird 1.5.0.4 on Mac OS
X.    How?  If I import on the Mac side, I can only choose between
OSX Mail Messages31 Aug 2006 06:27 GMT1
I asked this question over on comp.sys.mac.system last week but no
responses, so I'm going to try here.
Normally, when I open OS 10.4.7 Mail (v.2.1(752/752.2)), after a few
seconds the little wheel in the Inbox signals Mail is searching for new

Illegal Sharing of Software30 Aug 2006 09:36 GMT91
I have a fairly rich collection of applications running on my Mac, Adobe
Creative Suite 2, Microsoft Office 2004, Freeway, Parallels Desktop with
Windows XP Pro, REALbasic, and Dyalog APL, to name the major ones. All
together they represent several thousand dollars in licensing ...

Why Firefox instead of Safari30 Aug 2006 04:21 GMT59
I just downloaded Firefox because I was having trouble accessing a
blog.   I tried Firefox to see if Safari was the problem.  Firefox had
the same problem.
While I've got it on my system, why do some of y'all prefer Firefox
Emoticons in Apple Mail?30 Aug 2006 04:18 GMT5
Is there a way to do this? It seems strange, but it doesn't seem that
there is (or at least I can't find a reference to it online). What's up?

".webarchive" files30 Aug 2006 01:59 GMT7
My Safari saves web pages as file.webarchive and often people with PC
have written me with puzzlement what it is.
How can I save a web page in Safari that I can safely mail to anybody
with any brower, be it on PC or Unix or Mac?
more EyeTV questions30 Aug 2006 01:05 GMT6
I'd mentioned on here earlier my need to break down and upgrade to Tiger
so I could use EyeTV.
My original idea was to get the EyeTV "hybrid" because of its digital TV
reception capability, but someone here suggested I go for the EyeTV 250
ITunes will not connect to music store29 Aug 2006 21:10 GMT2

How to format hard drive29 Aug 2006 19:56 GMT8

Neooffice calls outside29 Aug 2006 18:41 GMT5
I discovered that Neooffice opens the Neooffice homepage after opening a
file.
I made a rule in Little Snitch to prevent this, which doesn't seem to
work.
questions before I upgrade to Tiger29 Aug 2006 15:44 GMT10
Yeah, I know; I've waited forever, but I've spotted a really nifty
gadget that falls in the category of something I can't live without --
the EyeTV USB TV receiver, whose software requires OSX 10.4 or later.
I'm currently running 10.3.7 (Panther) on a 1.25ghz dual G4, with Adobe
