Sanyo Cellphone data port & Mac OS/X?31 Jul 2006 23:36 GMT2
I just recently joined the 21st century and got a pair of Sanyo SCP
3100 cellphones.  They happen to come with a so-so digital camera (that
isn't why I picked that particular phone.)  I've seen there are
available USB cables for the dataport on the phone.  Is there any Mac
Front Row & Movies & having them not where expected31 Jul 2006 23:08 GMT1
I am asking before I go to the trouble of hooking up to ancient TV and testing.
Best I can tell Front Row "sees" movies that are in the ~/Movies
directory. IOW Front Row does not provide the user the ability to
navigate a la Finder windows. (Perhaps that's what's included in these ...

As subject heading. I've been doing it by simply transfering the itunes
music folder- however that loses all the playlist info. Any other way
around that? TIA.

Safari address bar disappeared!31 Jul 2006 03:16 GMT2
I was trying to copy a URL from the Safari address bar today when suddenly
the address bar disappeared.  If I try File -> Location, it is greyed-out
and I cannot use that to enter an address.  I tried Camino and the address
bar is missing there also, but File->Location works with ...
Anti-virus for Intel Macs?30 Jul 2006 23:10 GMT21
Any recommendations here?
I need an AV product for corporate reasons, mainly to ensure that I
don't unwittingly forward email attachments infected with Windows
viruses.

iTunes podcast subscriptions30 Jul 2006 13:10 GMT3
Will iTunes download and save subscribed podcasts even if the
application itself isn't running?  Or do I need to leave it running
continuously for that to work?
Safari and PDF docs30 Jul 2006 13:05 GMT16
Every time I try to open a PDF doc in Safari for the first time, it asks
me to select the App to use.  Isn't there a way to tell it to always use
Acrobat Reader, for example?

QuarkXpress 5.029 Jul 2006 06:38 GMT7
My son (in the print bus) sent me Quark5.0. I have always used Macs and
have 10.3 running on my G4. However, 5.0 runs on Classic. Is there an
update to enable it to run on 10.3? I've googled but found nothing.
Cheers

Is there an alternative for playing *.wmv besides Windows Media Player?29 Jul 2006 01:02 GMT4
Using Tiger.  The MicroSoft product is very, very flaky.  Almost always
refuses to open.  Is there something else that we might be able to use?
(I've tried VLC with POOR success - sometimes audio with no video;
sometimes the opposite...)
