Suddenly I can't check my mail (Eudora 6.2.3) I checked it in the
morning without trouble, then when I tried again later in the day,
without changing any setting on my computer, I could not access it.
Here is the error message I get when trying to check my mail:
Dreamweaver wants to contact home computer when starting up13 Jun 2006 14:55 GMT2
Whenever I start Dreamweaver MX on my Mac OS 10.4.6 laptop if it isn't
connected to my home LAN it insists on trying to connect to my desktop
computer over Apple file sharing.  While it tries to connect, I get a
"beach ball of death" on Dreamweaver.  After about 3 minutes searching

More fun with color managment13 Jun 2006 13:03 GMT14
Since the general opinion was that PS was needed to do color management
properly I have now installed this and......it is exactly the same!
I'm printing to an Epson R800 with the correct (apparently) icc profiles
installed.  I recalibrated my monitor.  I'm using Epson paper and ...
Delicious Library: how large is practical?13 Jun 2006 05:06 GMT8
Just downloaded the demo. Looks nice and powerful. Does anyone using
the application think it is suitable for big libraries, i.e. several
hundreds or even thousands of books or records?
Thanks for your insight.
Proprietary-ness of AAC13 Jun 2006 03:25 GMT10
Simple question: when ripping CDs to Apple's AAC format, is the file
enclosed in any proprietary wrapper or is the AAC file just as open as
compatible as any MP3 file?  I understand AAC files downloaded from iTMS
are in a special format that encloses Apple's DRM, and just wanted to

Google Maps: Getting rid of text column?12 Jun 2006 13:53 GMT1
When you go to Google Maps, there's a column of advertisements down the
left side of the window, alongside the map, like the Sidebar in a Finder
window.
Is there a command to turn this column off, or close it, and get just a
Color It! for OS X is out12 Jun 2006 12:01 GMT4
My copy of Color It! 4.5 showed up in the mail box today. Just as much
of a joy to use as it ever was, and continuing the historical trend of
almost laughably low system requirements.
G3 running 10.0 or higher with 6MB of available RAM.

correctly.  I have Safari Enhancer and I tried putting to the settings
Large file transfer software.11 Jun 2006 20:56 GMT4
Dear members:
I am looking for software to send large files that surpass the size usually
allowed as attachments by e-mail servers and ISPs.
So far I have tried FastSend and FileChute but haven't been impressed by

particular bits of text into BBEdit docs? Eg. <h1> or <div

Chinese mp3 taags become gibberish on iTune11 Jun 2006 13:15 GMT2
I used to be a PC user and recently I started to use Mac and
met this problem with iTune.  I ripped my Chinese music CD
into MP3s using Windows Media Player 10 on XP.  Most of them
have their MP3 tags in Chinese.  When I copies them to Mac
