I have a 60 GB portable USB hard drive.  It mounts fine on my desktop
computer (a PowerPC G5 1.8 Ghz Dual) and on every Windows XP computer
that I've tried, but it won't mount on my PowerBook G4 laptop.  Both

Hi, I'm working in OS 9. I know how to encrypt a file, but when I
open it, I decrypt it, obviously, and it will not remain
unencrypted after I close it. Apparently I have to go through the
whole encryption process again to maintain it as an encrypted

I have a copy of VirtualPC with W2000 on it.  Is there any way to
extract this into an Intel Mac running Bootcamp or Parallel?
The second CD is labeled W2000 and has an i386 directory, but there's no

How does one assign helper apps in Safari if the app doesn't have an
internet plugin? I want RealPlayer to launch automatically and play .ram
links, but couldn't find a plugin on the RealPlayer site. Presumeably

Does anyone have a suggestion for a free GUI-based text editor that will
work with 10.2.8? I'm not interested in VI, Emacs, etc. How come
