O.S. VX.46 broke down after only one hour!30 Jun 2006 22:39 GMT22
I just installed O.S. X.46 today and it's already not working. (The
Tiger is already so sick it can't even stand up!)
I installed O.S. X.46 onto an external La Cie drive today -- a drive
that didn't have a system folder on it.

I'm pleased to announce the release of MT-NewsWatcher 3.5.1, which you
can download from <http://www.smfr.org/mtnw/>.
MT-NewsWatcher 3.5.1 is now a Universal Binary (meaning that it runs
natively on Intel Macs), and fixes several bugs in 3.4, including the
Collaborative Workspace Application for Mac30 Jun 2006 16:10 GMT4
I work for a small company with multiple offices and we are looking
into Mac applications and/or an online (Mac-friendly) tool where
multiple users can share and edit a document?
We've tried doing track changes, file naming conventions, etc. but
Getting Help files as *documents*?30 Jun 2006 13:40 GMT9
Is there any way to get at the standard Apple Help files such as
accompany many Mac applications in the form of a *single* PDF or other
document that can be scrolled, printed, or searched sequentially if one
so wishes?
... a truly beautiful Mac app30 Jun 2006 09:35 GMT14
My daughter works for a firm that has Macs and she, a Windows
person, is having to get used to it... She asked me if there was
a Solitaire game for it and I found: Solitaire XL.app I must say,
it is truly beautiful the way it works... Might even be a tad
MT-NW 3.5.1 doesn't find old saved groups30 Jun 2006 03:10 GMT4
Since upgrading to 3.5.1., when opening the application I get an error
message saying it can't find my saved groups. However, when I select
"Open ..." from the file menu, it takes me right to my saved group of
newsgroups. My saved group is in a folder named "MT-NW groups." That

Running AU "components"29 Jun 2006 11:18 GMT1
I ran across a couple of these I'd like to play with, but evidently they
need to be managed by some app that can load and run them (the icon
looks like a little Lego, and the extension is ".component").
I found a few commercial apps that claim to run the things, but I
How is iPhoto with TIFFs?29 Jun 2006 05:44 GMT32
I've undertaken a project scanning some old prints and slides.  I elected
TIFF as my image format; consequently the images are multi-megabyte in
size, averaging 4-5 MB for most, with some higher resolution scans
coming in at 20-30 MB.  Currently they are just on a folder on my hard
Outlook MAC address group to Eudora PC address book29 Jun 2006 05:40 GMT1
I have a large (600+ names) contact group in my MAC's Outlook Express
address book.  This group of names needs to be transferred to my PC's
Eudora address book.
Is this possible?

MP3s: Mac => PC28 Jun 2006 19:50 GMT8
I've been sending MP3s generated on my Mac to some people with
PC/Windows systems, and they're coming across as unplayable, "file
format is unrecognized". They play fine on my system via Quicktime
player.
RealPlayer driving me crazy28 Jun 2006 13:03 GMT3
Running an iMac G5 with 10.4.6.  I have a wireless broadband ISP
connection rated at 256 kps.  Watching files downloads through a
browser, the ISP doesn't seem ever to hang up for long, but rather runs
pretty smoothly.
Every time I want to open a .pdf webpage, i have to find Adobe Reader28 Jun 2006 03:38 GMT4
Whenever I want to read a .pdf webpage, my system makes me find Adobe
Reader anew. It seems to forget each time that I've already instructed
it where to find the Reader. Been going on forever. Thoughts? I have
the latest version.
